I sent an email w/ the required info yesterday, so I’m in! Thanks!
Quick question. When should we expect to receive a reply to the email to confirm we have a spot? I realize it's a holiday weekend, so I don't necessarily expect a reply immediately, but I wanted to make sure either a) I got in on the sale, or b) I didn't so I can re-allocate the funds towards another in the CPK for sale thread, etc. This being my first time getting in on something like this, I'm just not sure if I should have received a reply already or not. Thank you!
Jo (Mrs. Carothers) typically answers all email and sorts out invoices after the weekend. This being the Labor Day weekend, you may hear back from her on Tuesday if you don't hear from them on Monday. She doesn't drop the ball and you will be taken care of as long as you made the sale, which looks like you have. Enjoy your UF.
You will not be disappointed.Perfect, thank you for the quick reply. I'm in no rush at all, especially since everybody deserves a three day weekend once in awhile! Just wasn't sure what to expect since it wasn't stated by Nathan in the OP. Looking forward to my first CPK!
I would love a spot on this list as well, if on the off chance one exists
Great!
This sale is now closed.
Carothers is a relatively small business, they don't have the capacity to output several different models at one time. They make knives in batches, and have zero problem selling them out. Nathan doesn't like to do pre-orders, but the customers have enough faith in him and his long-term success that they're willing to pay a pre-order. Personally, there are very few makers that I would be willing to do this with, and I agree, it still isn't a good idea. Thanks for responding. I have read this thread and every other one I can find on the CPK products I want. In the end they seem very rare and difficult to get. My time just isn’t as available as it used to be so picking one up used seems hard, as I’m always a bit late. I hopped posting here May reveal some easier method to get a knife.
It seems like I will just prepay in full the next time it’s offered as the sale threads are over in minutes. I still feel the burn from Dan Koster on my last prepay deal from years back but CPK seems to have an avid following . I’m assuming that following would not allow a koster repeat performance on BF.
