The Kershaw A100 Multi-Tool was introduced in 1997 as a bold, innovative product for KAI USA, which was then seeking a hit to revitalize its lineup. It was the first multitool to combine locking pliers with a one-handed opening (OHO) liner lock knife blade, a feature that set it apart from competitors. The locking pliers could be adjusted for tension, and the knife blade could be opened without removing the handle, thanks to the OHO mechanism.
While the A100 was not mass-produced for decades, it remains a collector’s item and a unique example of KAI’s innovation in multitools.
