Sold on Fleabay and the address is to an airport, should I be worried?

As I stated earlier go read eBay's easy international policy. It's a "service" they offer. You can opt out if you want. Please educate yourself before continuing on your tirade. You really are making an issue of something you obviously no nothing about.

OK. As the eBay Global Shipping Program requires the seller to elect to use it, I missed the OP's statement that he had done so. Instead, he seems surprised that his item was going to some airport somewhere.

I also missed the address that the OP is supposed to send his item to. Obviously, as I said in my "tirade." I don't know the facts. Apparently you do, so don't be shy. Tell us.

I am confused......If you state "US sales only", on E-bay that does not necessarily mean US sales only?

And, if you ship to the address as directed do you assume any responsibility for it's loss should it get lost going from there to wherever?

I need some facts, my brain hurts!!

Wow. Ok Thomas, try this:

The Global Shipping Program simplifies selling an item to an international buyer. All eligible listings for sellers who qualify are automatically included in the Global Shipping Program. Here's how it works:

List your item.

Your item sells to an international buyer in an eligible country.

You ship the item to a US shipping center.

International shipping experts manage the international shipping and customs process and send the item to the buyer.

Since you are that guy let me help you further:

Now, since you are intent on being a jerk and obviously don't want to do anything but act the part, I going to simplify this for you. Quit being a troll. If you took the time to look it up you would have found how the program works. You ship it to the eBay distribution center and they take it from there. Now is there anything that is too hard for you to comprehend or do you I need to explain it further like I have to do with my 5 year old?

Since I went to the eBay site and read what is there, I noted that The Global Shipping Program is described by eBay as an alternative. not as an automatic practice, which it may well be.

How that works for an item listed as not eligible for international sale escapes me.

However, as you feel most comfortable name-calling ("jerk" "troll"), I doubt this discussion will accomplish much. Good luck in your future endeavors.

Any time I list a knife on eBay it always says, "This item is not eligible for the Global Shipping Program" I would be very wary of shipping any knife to Russia from eBay as I have dealt with that twice, before I wised up and twice had problems with the buyers.

This is starting to happen more and more around here lately . Issues of mental illness raised on certain threads, rambling, circuitous replies to statements that do not need reply, people answering the OP's questions and other members taking issue with the advice, needing evidence that will stand up in federal courts...whew!

Too much estrogen in the drama queens...

Just sayin

Amen to that, seriously!
All over the place...not just here.

Staying on-topic, I've never shipped any knives on the bay and I'm comfortable telling you to look into it directly, you need to find the evidence that makes YOU feel comfortable with shipping it.
Should something go wrong YOU will have to deal with the consequences.

After reading all the posts, I personally would not send it. Contradicting information plus potential exclusions that could have been overlooked in other transactions, especially if the program is new like you all say

If someone else's knife wasn't eligible, my guess is there was a miscommunication somewhere and your is also not eligible.
Again just a guess.

Make a decision you have no problem being responsible for. :)

OP if you don't feel comfortable shipping to another country than don't. How did the buyer come up with a shipping cost if the ad was USA only?

Hi, so update.

1. Called up eBay. Since I was getting more nervous with Russia-Ukraine heating up. Ebay clearly state their policy is that once it reaches the address set by buyer, my responsibility ends there.
2. I didn't select Global shipping program. Ebay agent says it's this is not part of the Global shipping program. My guess is that the buyer has hired shipping services to move it internationally.
3. I wasn't clear but the airport address was to a US airport. A small airport in Elizabeth, NJ. so while the user is international, they have an US address to ship to.

Here's the thing though, I google the company the shipment is going to, Meest-America, which turned up bunch of problems. So I'm canceling the auction and trying to undo this transaction. Seller beware
