Hey all. This is a little side line tool that I came up with just for fun, and it turned into a popular little item. So much so that I wore myself down making one after another for a short while... Basically, it is a very practical little bottle opener that can also serve as a knuckle duster like device if pressed into service as such. It doesn't satisfy most states' definitions as a knuckle duster, or an illegal weapon. It would simply be seen as an improvised device for the most part... Of course, that being said, use this at your own risk and make sure you check all local laws, just like you do with knives, and ensure you are in compliance.
Personal safety is something that I believe starts with the choices each individual makes. In my day job, people's personal safety is a number one concern of mine. Carrying something small, like this, that can give you the upper hand at a critical moment can be the difference in ending your day at home as opposed to in the hospital or morgue. We can't all carry guns 24/7, or even knives sometimes. Pepper spray doesn't always work, and tasers cost hundreds of dollars. Just about everyone carries a key chain, and everyone know's how to strike someone with a closed hand. 'Make it instinctive, and make it count.' Paramount principles in the defensive tactics classes I teach from time to time to both civilians and LEO's. Putting a key ring on your finger is also taught to a lot of women in personal safety classes they take. Why not have an actual defensive item on that key ring in the first place? And it ain't a half bad bottle opener too!!
I sell these for $12.50 which includes lower 48 shipping on my website. For BF members I am offering a discount and selling them for $10.50 which also includes shipping within the lower 48. Below are pictures of the first run/prototype. The newest ones will appear just a little bit different as they are waterjet cut and finished off by hand. So they are just a little bit more precise with the finger hole, etc. After the set-up fees, and waterjet service, and finishing these off by hand, I don't make a killing on these by any means, but I can explore further discounts for orders of four or more keychains. I am also looking into some hard anodizing on future runs, so if you are interested in a specific color, let me know. I may be able to work it into an exploratory batch I'm playing with.
Again, for BF members, $10.50 gets you one opener shipped to your door if you live in the lower 48 states (or APO/FPO/DPO). If you are outside the company shipping will be individually quoted and added at actual cost.
Follow my sig below and email me to make a purchase. Or PM me here. I will send you a paypal invoice if you desire to pay by that method. Or, I can take other forms of payment, allowing appropriate time for these methods to clear...
Will add photos of the new waterjet cut keychains as soon as they are done. As stated above, will be nearly exact copies, just a little more 'crisp' as they aren't done solely by hand. Re-stock will arrive Weds-Thurs and be out ASAP, Thurs-Fri most likely to all who order now (weekend of 6/28-6/29) my turn-around will be quick since I am free of a day job those two days. Will go ahead with a third run if there is continued interest at the level I've received so far. This run nearly already sold out... (wow, that sounds like some late night TV line for commemorative coins or something...)
