A Sgian Dubh 'Scavaig' fresh off the workbench...

My take on a traditional Scottish Sgian Dubh - the 'Scavaig'. This one has been crafted with a brass bolster that is solid (not a furrule) and a stabilized Black Palm handle centre. The stabilizing process impregnates the wood with resin that is then cured - this makes the wood water resistant, hard-wearing and far less likely to crack or warp than un-stabilized wood. The pommel is in Ebony with a brass pin. This traditional blade also features filework on the spine and a fine mosaic pin in the handle. The sheath is also 100% handmade in-house with saddle stitching and toolwork.

- Weight without sheath: 130g (4.6oz)
- Weight with sheath: 160g (5.6oz)
- Handle material: Brass bolster, stabilized Black Palm, vulcanized fibre liners and an Ebony pommel
- Fittings: Brass mosaic pin and pommel pin.
- Traditional hidden tang design. Comes with a custom fitted sheath as seen.
