Old stock, lightly used.

So....

When I go to Blade Show I like to go to the back and find some Japanese guy that doesn't speak any English and find a knife on his table that doesn't have any English anywhere and buy cool knives that are not real common and they're usually a pretty good value

I got a cool folder a couple years ago, it was kind of a gentleman's knife. It had wood scales that were machined in the shape of bamboo scales and it was kind of a nice little dressy knife. VG 10, which I personally like.

My dad was at that show and he took a liking to the knife so I gave it to him.

Well, he recently lost it. So I figured I would get him a new folder for Christmas. Nothing fancy, he likes a clean dressy looking knife but he's not a collector. I like VG 10 because, done properly, it has pretty good edge retention, edge stability. I would put it above 154 cm. But again, the steel is not real important, as long as it's not S30V.

So I was going to ask on the forum, some knife suggestions for my dad but I figured, hell I should put something up for trade.

Again, he doesn't want anything over the top just a nice little folder that he can carry. A small dressy thing.

And, I'd like to give my sister a little pocket knife too. It could be dressy, although she also likes tactical stuff. Again nothing over the top.

If you guys have some gift ideas that you would like to swap as a trade, I would consider a 3 or $400 total as a reasonable trade value for this old DEK1 and you guys could help me finish my Christmas shopping!

Thanks!
If I were you I would save the money, Keep your knife get the QSP Dolphin, it is a beautiful knife punching way above its class with a sleek mirror finish on the blade. They have a couple options for scales including a Pearl white handle that would look great for a woman.

Up for trade consideration:

Military 2 in Cruwear and micarta with custom clip and hardware.

I am seeing friction folders in vg 10 by Kotoh, Yoshimi in Arizona. Was it him?
No I think this was probably a liner lock.

But that's okay it doesn't need to be the same knife just something in that same vein. Simple, functional, slightly dressy knife.

How about these (4 knives):

Bottom: Vosteed Bellamy - 154CM steel, with milled green micarta handles, zipper pouch, storage tin, COA, microfiber, patch, sticker. Slightly used but excellent condition.

Next up: Viper Turn, M390 steel, walnut handles - with leather pocket sleeve, microfiber, box. New, unused.

Next up: D.W. Childress small fixed blade - Nitro V steel, stabilized Elder Burl handles, thin black liners and thin red liners. Bought on this forum from D.W. Childress. New, unused.

Next up: Old Timer 6-piece Carving Multi-Tool. New, unused.

I’d love to swap these for your DEK1 (my favorite knife of yours), which I would give to my buddy for Xmas.
