Sold

I Reopened this thread because I wanted to clear the air. In no way was I trying to deceive anyone with this sale. I've had the knife for about 3 or 4 years and bought it from an individual, who told me that he had bought it from an estate sale. My first priority when I got my gold membership was to sell an xm-18 I had just purchased. I also listed a ZT0801. They both sold very quickly and I just looked through my knife box to see what I could sell next. The BM was too big for my liking so it was my first choice of a next sale. When the first guy responded that it was fake my first reaction was heck no it's not. I subscribed to the thread before it was sold so I would receive emails when someone would post on the thread. After the first response of "fake" I didn't get any more emails of postings on the thread so I figured it was a mute point.Somehow I got "unsubscribed" to the thread. The next email I got was from Paypal saying that a payment had been disputed. The buyer had never notified me of any problem or concerns. I immediately emailed him and ask about the situation. He told me he had to because of all the chatter on the thread. I told him I didn't have a problem with returning his money,I just wished he had communicated any concerns to me before filing a Paypal dispute. As a side note when he filed the dispute it stopped payment to my bank for the funds for all 3 knives. So prior communication would have solved his problem without creating another one. As far as fake/genuine...I still think it's real but who knows. I own about 10 Benchmade knives so I'm very familiar with them but I'm not an expert. It may very well be fake. I just wanted to clear the air and say that I would never ever cheat anyone. I'm just not built that way.

I can say that I appreciate what you have said.

As far as the knife goes...send it to benchmade and let them tell you if it's fake or not. You could also post some detailed pics on their forum and the experts check it out there.

Me too.

I also believe you didn't know it was cloned. There are so REALLY hard to spot fakes out there. As jonearlt is saying send it to Benchmade to verify it or post it on their site and they will let you know for sure.

Honestly it's really not important to me. It sat in my knife box for years...that's where it is now. I just won't try to sell it again.
