Well I had to change my game plan a little do too work, and snow.
The area I original wanted to go was still under 12' of snow in places according to the forest service. And worked called Fri and we had a small emergency I had to tend to, so one night was all I could afford.
I ended up going to a place an hour and a halof north of Spokane called Calispell Peak. It's an area where the Fairchild Air Force Base has their survival school. I wouldn't get to hike in seeing that I could just drive to the spot I had in mind, but I wasn't complaining, it was woods time none the less.
Still quite a bit of snow in the area. The Tacoma creek was about twice the size it normally is due to spring run off.
The creek had overflown it's bank in quite a few areas and crated several little tributaries.
Pine burrows to lay the tent over so I'm not sleeping on the cold ground, and humble camp.
Tools are my GB Scandi Forest axe (a must for me especially this time of year), newly finished Enzo with green micarta, SAK Farmer, and Opi Saw.
More to come including fire with flint and steel........
