What did you not like about the shiv and the TGLB? Might help narrow the suggestions.
Let me make this clear - i love both knives, they are top notch.

However, for the use I wanted them for (a weapon first and foremost), they both had draw backs.

The TGLB could be balanced a bit better and is a bit heavier than it needs to be for a fighter. Also I wouldnt mind if the blade was a bit more "pointy-stabby" :D . It could use some refinement for what I wanted

The Shiv is VERY close to being perfect imo. I just felt that the guards are a little lacking (i wouldn't be comfortable driving my full force behind it) and the butt end of the handle could use a little more 'meat' also. It is perhaps a little too refined.

Both knives are great and extremely close to what I want, i'm nitpicking.

Again, this is my opinion. YMMV.

It would help to know what you train to cater to that style.

Hey folks.

I want to buy a knife that is first and foremost, 100% functional as a weapon.

Around 7-9" blade. I want it to be fairly light, balanced and impressive.

The closest knives I have had to this are the Carothers 8" Shiv and the Busse Team Gemini Light Brigade. Both had minor flaws in them (imo), so I have moved on.

Please, recommend me something along those lines....money is no object.

Thanks!

EDIT: MUST BE SINGLE EDGED!!!

Microtech Jagdcommando!!!

Lol no but really I would get a gorgeous functional Otanto or Kodachi length Japanese sword. I think Wakizashi is probably too long.

Orrrr! Even better, Bill Bagwell custom Bowie!!!!!!!

I box and train BJJ.

With a weapon? Nothing. I don't plan on getting into a fight, number one. Two, if blades come out, I think both dudes will get cut.

I want the knife for collection purposes but I like things to be functional. Plus, it's way cooler knowing they are :D

Edit to add: I believe a Karambit would suit my 'style' the most as the cuts would flow with punches. Thay being said, I don't like them asthetically and again, don't plan on ever actually using the knife as a weapon.

Kerambit would definitely suit boxing. Look for Richard Derespina.

Plenty available in the secondary market.

Ok, I like this and I like you even more! Please buy me a Small Classic Micarta Sebenza. I will love you forever and "like" every post of yours I see.

Hello,
If money is no object, without question please look into any and all Walter Brend fixed blades.
He offers pretty much every type of grind and handle material. I've owned a large number of his folders and do yourself a favor and go straight for the full customs.
You won't be disappointed.
Best of luck!

Was curious who made that folder in the middle, thanks.

AOD by Darrel Ralph... With a few mods by me. Its a left handed framelock with a righty pocket clip set up for lefty pikal pocket opening draw.
