Some advice for college

Someone has already pointed this out, but community or technical colleges are the way to go if money is an issue. I did this myself and probably saved myself $20,000 at least. Also, I did go to the trouble (as will all graduating seniors - because no one will do it for you) to verify which credits will transfer to a four-year university, assuming that is the academic goal. Because I went into shop teaching, I had a lot of technical credits that would easily transfer. But, a few of the general education requirements for the associate's degree were not high enough for the bachelor's. For general education requirements, speak to someone in admissions. But for more specific credits, go directly to the dept head or the undergraduate adviser.
