It's real hard to get the whole thing in the picture and show much detail. Although the close-ups do a pretty good job of showing the fine engraving on the silver accoutrements. Kinda hard to see, but the horn has some real nice "feather" in it.

I really like the way the handle feels in my hands. It fits me perfectly.

Picking jaw up off the floor ala Jim Carrey...

That is an amazing piece. It belongs in a museum, except then it wouldn't get fondled and loved as much.

A tour de force for BirGorkha!

It will probably end up in a museum before five hundred years are out!

Wow,
very impressive and nice piece!
This one is completely BirGorkha, not a katana but not not a katana, it's a new kind of sword

the Bura Hybrid Sword!

Nice! Roger, better send that up to me before Jim Clifton sees this and his checkbook takes a hit!

I really like the handle. Some might think it a bit "busy", but I think it really gives this Katana an identity.

Pure BirGhorka. and very spirited!

Sharp too!!

I had a piece of 1 inch diameter manila hemp rope in my shed. I hung it from a branch on the big fir tree in my back yard.....ok. here's goes Roger the ninja warrior...sneaking up on the Tatami man's snake....swish! Sliced off a hunk like butter and the rope hardly moved.

The EKK makes a real nice sound when you swing her fast. I imagine the blade tip is traveling pretty fast. Sounds like something from a movie.

I don't know what the hell I'm doing, but I exercised extreme caution in my little "test". No one was within 25 feet of me.

Your image has been compromised Rog.

The handle is going to be hard to improve upon, unless BirGhorka gets some of the fabled white or pearl grey horn....

I took it to work with me today. Everyone I showed it too was very impressed. I never said what it cost, I just let them speculate on their own. I had a couple guys say it had to cost at least $2000. I just let them think that for now. I told them the tale of the kamis of Nepal, and one guy refused to believe the Katana itself was made by hand by one man using basic tools and a hand fired forge. He thought there was no way it could be made this straight and true by hand.
One guy even has some expensive swords at home, and he said he liked the EKK better, that it looked more "crafted" than "produced".

I was like a proud papa showing off his new baby. Maybe I'll buy another one someday and see if BirGhorka can top this, but they'll really have to try!!!!

:
Dayum!!! $500.00 is the going price for one like this?
Dayum!!!
Of course it is not bad at all, only the equivilent of 2 or 3 khukuris depending on which they are.
Maybe, just maybe one of these days.

Harry is not only the HI range safety officer, I am beginning to believe that he is also not only a victim of HIKV, but a carrier as well since he started the EKK among other things.
However in reflection I suppose there are a couple of others guilty as well.

My gratitude also goes to Harry for getting it going. I love all HI Khuk's, but I have special affection for the "specials", like the EKK, the YCS, Kothimoda, GRS, GS, SBS.

Some workhorse Khuk's are necessary, but I think AK's, a BAS and a Sirupati pretty much cover most of my camping and wood chores.

I can see myself with another Katana, but probably not one quite this fancy.

I'm real interested in what Harry's got cooking...........I'm sure my next bout with HIKV will also involve something fancy or different.

....or maybe a MEGA SALYAN.....who knows???

But the EKK will leave a feeling of satisfaction that will last a long time
