Some interesting things happening at GEC

Just checked the GEC what's happening page...a lot by the looks of things.

- looks like another run of TC Barlows
- bolsters for a run of 73's
- boys orphan knife (I have not heard this term before, is it another 15 run?)
- a run of 53's (from the pattern numbers 531113 and 521113 is that a single blade version?)

I am new to GEC so I might have this all wrong. Can someone have a look and give a better idea?
 
The 15s are probably just a run of spare parts they have and are cleaning out.

Where is the info on the 53s? I'd love to get one in a stockman pattern with some nice bone. :D

I'm with you, can't wait for this knife! Also what's with the hallway pics at the end of galleries? Is that a clue of what's to come? So a Bull for the Bull lock? Last week was a horse, maybe the indicating the run of Pony jacks?

Hey Woodrow, I was just looking at the 'what's happening' link on their homepage with all the photos and there was a photo with a caption about the 53's with pattern numbers 531113 and 532113 I went back after your post and it is no longer on there. I wonder it it is the mystery blade and maybe they accidentally put it up? Unless I am going totally crazy in the head...

My mistake, it was in the new production schedule...

Is this a new one? From my small understanding of gec will this be a single blade?

And what is the orphan boys knife, it looks too big for a 15?
 
Possibly a misprint? All the other TC Barlows are on the 15 frame. There are 15 Boys knives and 79 workhorse on the same tray in one picture. The knives with the light colored handles are 15 boys knives in either nifebrite acrylic or smooth ivory bone. the abalone handled knives i'm not sure.

I can't remember but if there will be a 53 single blade barlow you will see the first time I ever sell a knife to afford one of those bad boys. GEC's 54 is my favorite knife but I don't like the trapper two equal length blade style of it.

These will be the boys knife version of the KSF SFO Forest jack I am guessing. Looks like you need to start selling something Kev :D
 
They had a complete power outage at GEC and vicinity today, just when Sue gets around to posting up the "What's Happening"!!
Look for corrections and other changes tomorrow!
Last I heard Bill was off looking for a generator!

I have to put a purchase on hold to see what these are. I may have to redirect funds. I will be looking forward to single blade (hopefully) 73's as well.
 
The single Sheepfoot interests me too.

Also, it's good to see they're releasing another run of their 73 pattern. This is THE GEC pattern, iconic even :D:thumbup: and offering it with Drop point makes it a must have for me.
