Some new Sodbusters and a few fleamarket finds

Grand looking knives, Happy birthday. I've got that very Queen. I'm pretty partial to the Slimline trappers, as well as their winter bottom bone. A fine knife for everyday carry.

Thanks a lot fellers :)

Happy birthday, friend! The sideways serrations (sidations?) on the little fruit knife are pretty neat. How does that one cut?

Thanks Blaine. Granton had a patent on the serrations at one time, and they still make kitchen knives. First time I've seen a folder like this though. The edge is pretty dull, but hopefully it'll sharpen up. Here's a great old Granton fruit knife that I keep in the kitchen, belonged to an old pal's grandfather.

Happy Birthday Jack! Nice haul - really like the Maserin

Thank you sir. They're quite nice knives. My girlfriend ordered the horn handled model rather than the olive wood version by mistake, and the latter is actually half the price. The steel is only 420 I'm afraid, but it came shaving sharp. I'll see how I go with it (I really wish it was in carbon). There's quite a bit of light showing through the back also, and a gap at the rear between the scale and liner you can easily get a thumb nail in, as well as a small amount of blade play. Although it's also only in 420, the Imperial, which cost about a sixth of the price is impressive. Fit and finish is the best of all 4 knives, it locks up great, there's no blade play, and it's also (currently) shaving sharp.

Jack you carpetbagging scoundrel!!

Waiting til I was outta town and then pillaging MY patch for the only decent knives I've ever seen there!!

:grumpy:

:p

Sterling scores there. You'll have to tell me which stall holder it was.
I'm glad you had such a bountiful day. I'm sorry I couldn't be there to buy you a birthday pint.

That's quite a girl you have there! I think mine is like most and tolerates my habit but is not really going to support it, much less by looking at your history!
Nice scores, and happy birthday!

:D I'll fill you in when I see you mate. Got those three from 2 different stalls out of about 4 selling knives. Thought we might bump into you, it was all a bit last minute. Had a good day though. Have to meet up soon for a pint ;)

I was a child bride Pete! :D ;) Thanks for thinking of me and for the info on the Scout. Not had much time to have a look at it yet, it's still sitting on my kitchen table.

Hope you're all having a good weekend folks :)
