Some newly arrived ALOX!!!!

There is a moratorium placed on my spending any more money on your typical traditional knives for at least the next several months, BUT I'm on a SAK Alox kick, and just ordered a silver and a black Pioneer Alox. While I was inspired by the low cost, aesthetics, and utility of the Cadet model, I never could get past the nail file until I discovered the Pioneer, which has, what I consider a more utilitarian awl in place of the nail file, and it's 93MM closed vs the closed length of 84mm for the Cadet 3.3" vs 3.6" still keeps it in the perfect size for a EDC traditional folder.

Well....I'm getting old.

Was looking through my Emergency/Camping/Wildfire gear bags and discovered that I had a mint '01 Wenger SI and a Swedish Firesteel stored in a scabbard with an old Cold Steel SRK!

So it's newly arrived.....I suppose.

I replaced it with a 2004 Camillus Demo knife for the time being.

It took over a month to get here, but my Vic 108mm Solo arrived yesterday...

Here are the red models in my 108 collection (from the top).

Safari Trooper
Pathfinder
Solo Plus
and the new Solo

Nice pack od solo's you have there. Those are giant knives (for SAK's) with giant snap! I have a solo
just like yours and it's a gator.

Thanks guys!! Lost a bunch of the 108mms in the fire and it's nice to be able to still find them at decent prices. If they were high like ALOX...there would be no way!

They are really neat, useful knives...I have used them on camping trips and limbed out a big Christmas tree with the saw about 20 years ago....worked great!

Aside from the solo, I'm not certain I've seen the other models. For sure they are less common.

Congrats on the new knives!

I have one in the plain blade also and it's a great companion in your bag or on a camping trip. Nice pics SAK Guy!

You have a nice variety there in your collection. :)

Thank you Frank! :) They pop up from time to time but most of the models have been discontinued for years.

Thanks Joe! I have the Trooper in green scales as well and a coulple of GAKs but the greatest variation of models are made in red. It took over a month for the Solo to get here but it was very cheap and one I needed.

I still don't have the 108mm Hunter and that will be my last if I get one.

That Solo used to be called the Adventurer when it first came out. Now the Adventurer is a locking bladed multi-tool. Nice catch.

Needed one Robert? Lol.

Was digging through a trunk that I haven't been into in about 4 years and found some more 108s.

2 red Safari Troopers (with guards, my others have no guards) and a B+H made GAK which has no nail file on the saw. I remember buying the B+H at a surplus store a couple of years after the fire but do not remember buying the Troopers. There was a lot of busy/hazy time after that fire.

One of the Troopers was in an unmarked Suisse Pac pouch which is coming apart so I bet it was with the green one at my house in West Texas hence it was not lost in the fire....

I wonder what else I have put back.

this Brütsch-Rüegger Pioneer arrived yesterday, alox SAKs were my entry point into knife collecting, I decided to go back to carrying them for a while, they look friendlier in the workplace, and I like the utility. I really like the way they age, as with this woodsman pictured. The red color is frustratingly hard to find, but worth it, because non-knife people will more automatically identify it as a SAK.

How come others guys find knives, but when I dig thru an old trunk or box, all I find is mouse turds. Life ain't fair. ;)
