Some of Big South Fork National Park and Pickett State Park in N. TN

Thanks-rocks and water, they go well together:)
Most Excellent Owen. When did Big South Fork become a National Park? I have never spent any time there and I absolutely need to go!
I guess it's actually a "National River and Recreation Area". Had it in my mind it was a Park, and have been calling it that ever since I first heard of it...

I want to head there for elk viewing as well as hiking. I haven't figured out just where to go for the elk yet. These things aren't highly published.

I have hiked and bummed around there before it was "Big South Fork".

Very cool Owen, thanks for sharing. This is another one your trips I've marked down...my wife and I love the TN area and she really like the pictures thinking it would make a great hike. What was the total distance of the hike?

The Honey Creek loop was 5.6 miles, just expect it to take a lot longer than 5.6 miles normally does! I imagine it will go a lot quicker if it's dry.
The Charit Creek to Slave's Falls..not sure. Slave Falls was actually a side hike, as the trail continues on past Needle Arch to connect with the Twin Arch loop at about 2.8 miles.
Twin Arch loop is 4.5 miles, IIRC. They're all pretty short.

Thanks! It's on our "list". My wife has been prepping for a 90 mile section of the AT as soon as schools out...I'm really wanting to explore some new areas. Thanks again,
