Some pics from the 2007 Chicago Custom Knife Show

Great tour of the show, Roger. Well done!!!

Very nice to see Russ out on the show circuit. That bowie for Keith is something else!

Nice to have the effort put into these threads for those of us who can't attend.

Roger, thanks for taking the time to share all the pictures! I appreciate it.

Thanks for reporting in!

What did you think of the show itself?

Best Regards,

Thanks gents.

Patrick - I don't believe that Young piece was an integral.

ckerwin - Good to see you too. I enjoyed the show and tell and congrats on the Winklers.

Michael - In addition to the Cashen, I picked up the blackwood / damascus hunter from Russ and the Andrews small bowie from Les. Colour me happy. :) Wish I could have swung the Hanson fighter - it was sublime.

Holger - looking forward to checking out the new ride!

Stephen - the BFBowie is just as nice as you could imagine. In person it impresses as being somewhat larger and more broad-bladed than the photos might suggest. Lots of presence. Fit and finish is superb and the knife has a real lively feel in hand. Someone is going to be REAL happy.

STeven - I thought the show was quite good. Things seemed quite organized and the venue was appropriate to the event. I don't have a frame of reference in terms of attendance, but I heard it varyingly described as "not that great" to "okay" by those that did. I didn't attend the tactical invitational, but heard REALLY good things about that from others. I would have liked to have seen more bladesmiths, but I knew going in that this wasn't going to be Little Rock or SOS in that respect. Then again, with deeper pockets I could have walked out with 2 Andrews, 1 Hanson and 1 Cashen - about as good a haul as I could hope for anywhere.

Roger....you know all shows can't be Blade or Reno.;)

I'd like to call "dibs" on either Andrews if you ever decide to make some room in your collection.

Glad that you had a good time, and thanks again for the report.

best knife show report ever!

thanks so much for the great pics, one can really appreciate - and agonize over - the beautiful knives that were there. man oh man so pretty they hurt! that show has come a long way since I last saw it about 6 years ago!

Nice job on the review and the pics Roger.I was glad to get the chance to meet you,and I guess I can say I'm glad you didn't have deep enough pockets for that Hanson Fighter...it wound up taking residence here in Illinois as well!

Rob Lindquist

I thought it might Rob, and I'm glad it found such a good home. Nice meeting you as well.

Roger

Thank you Roger, wife and I just returned home from the show and I just want to say it was really nice to meet and chat with you a little, its always great to finally get to put a face with the names. thank you also for taking the pictures, very nice job.
It was good to see and talk again with many of the makers I met there last year and to make new acquaintances with many other folks this year. We were sorry to see it over with so soon.

Thanks again Roger,

Bill

Thanks for bringing the show back to me. I love the shots and getting to put faces with NAMES meant a lot. Coop better watch his back, your pictures were good.

Really outstanding. Thanks so much for taking the time to put up such great pictures and reports. It's really nice to see these events if you can't attend in person.

I just spent more time IN the show--in this thread--than I did all weekend. I spent 10 hours each day in that little room....

Like everyone else allowed: Tops!

Coop

Unfortunately I couldn't make it this year... Thanks for the show!
