Thought I should post some shots of the new Hunter while it is still pristine, before I force a patina. I'm diggin' the new handle!

Sweet! I don't know about yours, but mine is begging for work this deer season.

Congrats on another beautiful blade.

Mist, you have excellent taste in knives and take a mean photo.

Very Cool!!

The new design looks like an up-sized Bushfinger. I like where Andy is heading with his redesigns lately.:cool:

Congrats on another beautiful blade.

Yeah, I've been thinking about doing some deer hunting this year. Usually I just do small game and it has been years since I went after deer with something besides a camera, but I have been craving venison chili.

Thanks man, and I'm glad you like the photos.

There are some other subtle differences in blade and handle shape, but I like what he's doing lately too. I didn't need to see that new woodsman yet...I'm already wanting one of those stainless Kardas when he does them and I'm really wanting a saber Hiking Buddy for my edc blade.

Looks a little chubbier in the hand than my original Hunter. Looks good.

Yeah, Andy told me it was coming out with a nice fat handle when he was still making it. Feels like it will handle really well for some game processing this winter.

looking forward to getting one myself.....look forward to hearing from you after you take it on a test run....

Hi Mist,

Very nice pic's of the Hunter. I scored the burlap Hunter that is in Andy's photo's, the one just below your knife. It got me thinkin, I bend a little leather as a hobby of mine. I've made some deerskin lined foldover sheaths for some Off the Map terrasuar's and bushcrafter's that I have. I saw some of Paul Long's work and tried to emmulate it. Nowhere near his skills but I find it very fun and therapudic. I plan on making one for my hunter when it arrives in the mail (hopefully soon :) ) I got some extra leather and mine looks to be the same size as yours so I'd like to make one for you as well, free of charge. I'd just like your opinion on it as from what I read you are a very knowledgeable fellow. If I could figure out how to post photos I would but I'll be the first to admit I'm not really computer savy at all. I'm going to guess and say your right handed? I use 10oz leather and the top of the sheath would cover the bolsters. I hand drill and sadlle stitch them with artificial sinew and dip them in beeswax to give it a little form fit for security. If your interested shoot me an email at anthonyc@bbfl.us It would probably take me a month or so to complete between work and everything else but I wouldn't mind at all if you'd like. Thanks

Oh, it's about to get some really good test runs as a woods knife. I wanted it for a couple of projects I am working on professionally, I have no doubts how it will handle them. There will be other things done along the way as well that i can post here though.

Thank you and nice score! I like the looks of that burlap, I think I want a saber ground Hiking Buddy in 5/32 with that same exact handle combination, or considering the utility nature of the use I want it for just the burlap would probably be fine, I'm just hung up on Andy's bolsters lately.

Thank you, the sheath definitely sounds interesting I'll send you an email.

Great snaps Mist. Looks like another wonderful knife from Andy. Love that full handle.

Thanks man, and yeah, it feels pretty damned awesome in hand. At the moment it is getting a spa treatment for the shiny complexion with a little garlic and onion. Tomorrow it's going to be working its @$$ off :)

Damn Mist. Looks like your Bushfinger just got a Daddy! Sweet!

Well...I was thinking more like a big brother...I think the Woodsman in 5/32 saber is going to be the big daddy of them all...when I can get around to getting one of those.

YES!

Woooohoooo. I know I made a good choice, I can't wait for mine. Damn, I'm excited.

Thanks for the side by side pics with the Bushfinger  Exactly what I wanted.

Looks like we have similar tastes in "knife on tree" shots :D
Pardon the non-Fiddleback :o

I thought you might get a little more excited, I knew you wanted to see the side by side pics.

I like that shot too, those NWAs are good looking knives too.

Thanks, Brian. I appreciate it. I'm looking forward to your article and future thoughts

Lol, trust me, I'm working on it as fast as I can. You'll definitely be getting some future thoughts I promise :)

Oh, and it now has a somewhat darker complexion, should be good to go tomorrow.
