swedges are ... sometimes good, sometimes bad. depends on what you have going on, I guess. I suspect the utility goes up as the possibility of sticking mammals with it goes up!

I'm not in love with the swedge, but I love the look of this knife. Absolutely gorgeous.....Almost makes me want to take some flitz to the patina I'm working on for the Mills pattern of yours (I love it shiny and grey - but the grey is more useful for kitchen duty).

This would be another wonderful kitchen + belt knife. Extend that blade about 1/4" further down below the handle and it would be perfect for kitchen!!!!

I thought the same thing. I think I'll get one in hopes that it will make me more inclined to cook.

this one might be a bit much for the kitchen- otoh, the full convex grinds have been doing some crazy things.

I think I'd make it with a 1/8 spine or maybe 5/32 and work down from that for a more general purpose camp knife. This one is definitely usable- even utilitarian- but it has a bit of fighter included.

Kenny's Blades in progress. The seax is a first- though I have one ordered in a *similar* vein by another forumite. 9 inches of blade and 3/16 at the hilt with a distal taper. very, VERY nice combat style. I need to explore this one a bit more.

The bush beater- or bushtac (or whatever I call it) is 'standard' for the type, nice spearpoint and full convex grind that will shave fuzzsticks and out "kindle" a CS trailmaster by a large margin. Slight exposed tang at the rear, but in this one I didn't use the exposed tang for a lanyard hole. I like the lanyard holes in the handle scales better myself. Maybe it is personal. I think having just the 1/4 inch of exposed hammer tang is plenty.

we've all seen the evil that is a sgian dubh. But now you see one of the two sheaths that comes with one)

WIP- the big blades have only been taken to 80/120 grit and are not fully shaped yet.

the ipe looks SICK! Nice work.

I been looking for a wooly mammoth and haven't seen any updates....:o

Ah, the mammoth is in mineral oil. For whatever reason I suck at taking photos of some knives and not others. I don't understand it. I'm working on getting dove season ready for you.
