From the pictures, it looks like it doesn't use a thumbstud as the stop pin like the rest of the onion-named line up. It appears to use an internal stop like on the JYD's.

I'm sure you haven't had a chance to take it apart yet, SPX, but let us know when you do.

I think you're right. Looking just above the pivot screw, that looks like
an internal stop pin.

Yep. Darn Kershaw! They come out with cool knives faster than I can buy 'em! It's got the clean simplicity of the Leek (even a bit moreso, with no thumbstuds), but in a shape I find more appealing.

Mine arrived Tuesday and I have to say that I am extremely upset that I did not order two. I love me JYD II that I carry daily, but the Shallot is home run outta the park. It is too nice for the Brother in Law......just kidding.

I was walking around the house just opening and closing, opening and closing, opening and closing and got a big resounding........ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S A GIFT.........PUT IT UP from my wife. I was doing my best to send the subliminal message that I wanted one and even hinted as to where to get one locally(I checked on the way home....in stock!!!) Anyway, we will see if my hard work paid off.

If not, there will be some after Christmas shopping by yours truly
