Some recent feedback for Phillip Dobson wanted

I sent 2 knives to Phillip at the end of November (11/30/11) for work, ZT0300 and Buck/Strider/Tarani 882. I have sent several emails and tried calling his number, but have received no response. Needless to say I'm beginning to get a little nervous. I have heard nothing but great things about him here and before I sent the knives to him his communication was superb. Now, however, nothing. I understand the holidays etc etc...but not even a peep?

Such is the way of the mighty Dobson. I have had great success with him in the past and I currently have a ZT and cleaver with him. He has not responded to my emails in the last couple weeks but I am not worrying at all. From all of my interactions and deals with him he has been a stand up guy. He is quite active and often takes trips for climbing and such. Don't worry, he will be back and you will be pleased with his work. Also, he is not a chronic "email ignorer", usually he responds within 48 hrs to my emails, but sometimes he is climbing and not within reach of a comp. Have faith!
 
I know it has only been a little over a week since this thread was started and I responded, but I am starting to worry a bit about Dobson. I am not worried about my knives as Dobson is a stand up guy, but has anyone talked to him this year? It has been almost a month since I have talked to him and he has always been good about responding. I am still only at a slightly concerned level, but it worries me not to hear back from a climber in winter.
Come back P. Dobson!
 
This thread has been inactive for a bit but in case anyone is searching. I sent my new HEST II (no boo's needed - I know RYP isn't anyone's favorite) to Phillip along with some Ebony and he sent back a set of gorgeous scales as the set I made were pretty rough (so I tell everyone my 12 yo nephew made them in wood shop).

As everyone else has said his work is top notch and he is a stand up guy. I will hopefully be working with him again in the future.
 
What was the turn around time? I still haven't seen my 0300 scale yet...I wonder if he's waiting to finish my Ti Buck scales before he sends them both back...
 
I had the scales back about 7-10 days after I sent them. To be fair they were pretty straight forward ebony scales so they might not have taken too long for a skilled builder to put together, and we don't live too far apart so mail only takes a day.

I'd say drop him a line again just for an update.

I'm sure things will work out for you. He did an awesome job for me. Let me know if I can be of assistance in any way.
 
I'm not sure if it is normal. I emailed Phillip 2 weeks ago about doing some follow up work and haven't heard back. I just assumed he was busy with "real life" but then he doesn't have anything of mine. I have a phone number for him if that would help. bslottoat gmaildotcom

Phil is a good friend of mine and it is his ice climbing season, so things slow down a bit. If you need a #, PM me. I see him weekly so I will relay this to him.

So...no response to multiple emails and a message on facebook. His voicemail inbox is full. At this point I just want my two knives back with the titanium that I sent to make the scales with. If anyone talks to him...please ask him to get in touch with me.
 
First week of May and still nothing...no email/call/no knives...nothing/nada/zip...I must say I'm not the least bit happy...

***Update*** I have heard from Phillip and he has agreed to finish my scales...apparently the titanium I sent him isn't going to work out so we have decided to go another route with the Buck/Strider.

He must not like you, because I just emailed him a couple times last week about doing my 0550 and I got responses within 1 day.........
 
I'll get the word across. I've dealt with him before a long time ago back when I had a ZT 0350.
