If you have been watching GEC's website, you might have noticed they have been gearing up to produce the #48 pattern - the Serpentine Slim Trapper. I have always admired the versions that Case and Schrade put out in the last century, and I especially like the Jack version, with its nicely ground clip blade, and accompanying pen blade.
O.K, O.K! You have all jumped ahead of the story! Yes, I looked into adding a few Jacks to the production!
But Why not give it an identity? Something to really invoke the old ones - like this one!

So I asked that they make me a Northfield version, with some bells and whistles! Like this;

Great idea Charlie. I will need to set aside some extra to put one of these in my pocket. Can hardly wait.

That really looks classy! Vey clean and neat the way the lettering fits there within the diamond :thumbup:
 
That would be a huge seller IMO! I love different shields.
I too love the 48 pattern and look forward to this release.

I think you are getting mighty close to building my holy grail....... Oh my, where's my wallet? Where's my defibrillator?!
 
I've got one of the next run of 48s on pre-order already. So Charlie, are you doing an SFO in addition to what is already planned, or are you just saying that the new run will be using that new shield?

This SFO is in addition to what GEC is going to produce. They are doing a Trapper I believe, and I am doing a Jack.
Full length Spey secondary on theirs, a pen blade on mine. Mine will have a saber ground main - I am not sure about theirs!

Fantastic Charlie!! I have been waiting to buy one of the #48 trappers cause they are getting hard to find in carbon steel. This is awesome, you and GEC are doing awesome work to bring back the past! I'm sure i'll pick one up... ;)
