You know, as I was lining them up to take the picture I couldn't remember if the Bark River were true stag or not, i thought I remembered them being stag, but I could be wrong. All the rest are definitely stag or American Elk.

I'm not positive, but the shield looks like a German Bull.

It's a Bear and Son stag Damascus trapper, it was a limited edition I picked up about a year ago. Unlike other Bear knives I have, the fit and finish are top notch, which leads me to believe it may be a contract knife. There are no gaps in the backsprings or scales. I think there are some still floating around out there.

jnevill you do'nt need to apologize to me, i've commited far more rudies than most members on the forum & the guys have been very gracious to this hillbilly. besides it looks like you have your PHD. in stag. that one hoffritz may have a hen & rooster on the blade back. if so that knife is one of the finest ever made. thanks for the great pics. dennis

I'll post some more pics of the Hoffritz as soon as they are done loading, unfortunately it doesn't have any stamp but the Hoffritz on the main blade, but it is a well made knife with some beautiful stag on it. I hate to rub it in, but I picked it up for $15 this last summer, at a flea market. I'm sure I saved it from a fate worse than death!

please come in tlarrbb we love pics , i do'nt think the hoffritz is a h&r since hen & rooster were diligent about their contract knives, however that doe'snt mean its not quality. dennis
