Some stag knives

That Hoffritz is a very decent acquisition:thumbup:

I like the Half Congress pattern, you don't see them around too much unfortunately. Got a Hoffritz Pen-Knife with sunk joints, sold as stag but it's bone, nevertheless it's a tough and attractive bird. My understanding is that Hoffritz was some Dept.store in NY who had knives made in Germany.

By the way, those BR knives look like Bonestag to me, very nicely done mind.

hoffritz did start in the east but by the 70s had outlets in most malls even in ft .worth, dallas & AUSTIN. THEY WERE A MAJOR PLAYER WITH AN INVENTORY in the thousands. carried quality goods with every type sissor ,kitchen, bar ^ barber supplies.dennis

Please, load 'em on up! I love looking at other people's knives, feel free to post away.

Well, here goes:

First picture has a PUMA 745 on top, the 250A Gerber Silver Knight in the middle, and a humungous Bulldog Whittler on bottom. It's nearly a short sword, but it has great stag.

The next one is a stag Bulldog Canoe (you guys know I like canoes, right?) on top with my large Case Copperlock in the center, and the Gerber Folding Sportsman II on bottom (which has the sorriest piece of stag on it I've ever seen; there's hardly a trace of the bark left on it.) It is otherwise a very nice knife.

I do have another Bulldog canoe with stag, the only difference is the other one has the "2000" inlay on the mark side instead of the standard shield. Stag is almost identical to the one in the picture.

So, this group of knives runs the complete gamut in size and quality of stag. I hope this post is at least entertaining.

Boy Ed, that Puma has some REALLY nice stag, but call me crazy, I love that silver knight! I have it in scrimshaw bone, it's a great little knife. I just picked up the GEC Northfield Mini-Lockback, the stag is similar to your Puma, the only thing I would change would be to make it the same size at the silver knight. How about a reverse shot of both?

Here you go:

Hopefully I've got that terminology correct. Feel free to correct me if I don't.
