I think I might have been talked into trying one!But we're supposed to be trying to talk you out of it.
I love daggers they're just my style I guess. It sure does look enticing. I guess I'm conflicted. And not speaking in abstract, that blade is sexy, but is it worth a hoot? I don't knowI think I might have been talked into trying one!
I have to admit I find the crkt redemption to be quite attractive. It costs a little over $200. From what I understand they are made by hogue. So I am conflicted, why would hogue make a knife and give it to crkt? I have looked at other hogue models but I keep going back to the redemption. Am I making a mistake? I'm not trying to beat crkt up however in my opinion they make garbage and crap, at least the ones I have owned and looked at and used. I just do not want to get burnt so all of your opinions and advice will be cheerfully appreciated. Thank you again
Joseph
Designers and manufacturers do this all the time, and the knife typically ends up wearing the designer’s name. Ochs Worx knives are made by Reate, but they’re all sold as Ochs Worx, right off the top of my head. I have an Oknife that’s made by Kizer, but it’s an Oknife. I’m sure the manufacturers are well compensated for their part.I've been asking myself how come hogue didn't put their name on it and call it good?
Look at it this way: If I make 100 business cards for you would you want me to put my name on them?I've been asking myself how come hogue didn't put their name on it and call it good?
If you like daggers, spend the extra coin for a Les George MK 3. You definitely won’t be disappointed but rather amazed. And also successfully talked out of!I love daggers they're just my style I guess. It sure does look enticing. I guess I'm conflicted. And not speaking in abstract, that blade is sexy, but is it worth a hoot? I don't know
Is there supposed to be a "atrociously bad grind" on the knife you posted? I don't see it.We don’t do that here, we talk people into buying knives.
I just googled it when I read it was a Ken Onion design. It certainly looks elegant, and it’s a crossbar lock in Magnacut made in the USA. $200 is not bad.
That said, I saw a few pictures of some with atrociously bad grinds…like this

I wouldn’t be happy with that. Ask them if they could please check your particular knife before they ship it….
If they are overlooking this kind of thing I wonder what other sketchy problems it could have tho :-/
I would keep a copy of the receipt as well, but hopefully you get a good one. Let us know how you like it when it comes!![]()
Look at the tip of the knife. The grind line is not even close to the center of the tip. I have a $20 “combat” fixed blade I bought years ago that looks similar. Is there supposed to be a "atrociously bad grind" on the knife you posted? I don't see it.
No I was hoping somebody here could be the guinea pig instead of me. LOL.Wait a minutes!! Are you hoping for someone in here; to talk you out of buying a knife?!?
Buy a custom fixed blade in AEB-L instead for the same price or less. I know a guy who makes them, even.![]()
