At this point, all deals should be conducted by PM. 95% of the time it's faux emails and not hacked accounts.

Fixed income, it takes me time to save up to buy these things. I'm not rich. Can't afford $30 a month when most of the time I don't have the money to buy anything. It's been reported to the bank for fraud, they are pretty good about getting things sorted out.
It's changed then. Last time I looked was like 9 years ago, lol. I'll have to check it out. I do want to get back into knives, it keeps me from going insane from my intractable migraines.A basic membership, which gets you a small number of DMs is $10 for the year.
I misread it. All this time I had the price wrong. I will be getting a membership as soon as I get my knives in a database. Sorry about this guys. I'm new to this kind of scammerWhere did this $30 a month idea come from?
How about you say something useful instead of repeating the same thing. Good to know people out there that never make mistakes.Fixed income, cant afford $30
but....
$450
Again...
Sorry you got scammed.
Buy a membership or continue to take a chance on getting scammed again
I am sorry to hear about this mr_anderson. Others have reiterated how it might be avoided in the future, no need to beat that into the ground at this point... But please let me add a suggestion that has worked for me 100% buying online for 25 years now. If you are even a bit unsure just ask for a picture of the knife with the user's name and date in the same pic. It's pretty common around here and other forums, not everyone posts a pic like that but most anyone could certainly take one for you.
Good luck in the future, don't let this sour you. Actual members here are 99.999% solid.
Also, stop using PayPal friends and family, Zelle or anything else that lacks protection. I have been using PP goods and services since its inception and have never had a problem; and have also walked away from deals if the Seller refuses to accept it.I know. This is the first time being scammed like this. I bought here for 15 years no problem. I've had more problems with knife makers.
If it was F&F, I would say the chance is little to none.Interested to hear if MasterCard refunds you. That would be good to know.
That should be unrelated. MC would decide on its own, and method of PayPal payment plays no part unless MasterCard cares. Some people have had success with various cards and banks in the past.If it was F&F, I would say the chance is little to none.

That was a first, But I was going by his rep on the forum. Like I said, It didn't even occur to me that some rando would do that. I learn from this stuff. Last lesson was in 2013 when 2 different knife makers got me for a total of $1500. What really sucked, both were paid makers both here and usn. I almost didn't use the F&F and just up however much it would be for the fee. Also, stop using PayPal friends and family, Zelle or anything else that lacks protection. N2s
If the question has anything to do with buying they don't care, even my bank said pp are awful with this stuff.I would report these scams to PP. While they don't offer protection on ff, it is against their rules to ask for it on goods and service transactions. I don't believe you break any rule by paying as asked
Hopefully they will close some accounts, and could take mercy on the buyer and make a refund-it is in their ability if they choose
I've been on pp since "98, and I've only needed to get refunds 3 times. Also interested to see how paypal takes to this practice, regardless of how legitimate the claim.
I was under the impression they get a bit huffy when people run chargebacks, but maybe it's circumstance dependant.
