to get the knife . This is the sale thread:
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=545574

I sent a message about payment and shipping to the seller, but received no response. After my second message I received his email, this is copy:

"Hi Artem,
I sorry, I'm a little confused. Are you located in Aurora, Il? If so,
I shipped the Airframe to that person, who's name is very much the
same as your screen name. Kristopher Robin.
Here's the tracking info.

http://trkcnfrm1.smi.usps.com/PTSInternetWeb/InterLabelInquiry.do?origTrackNum=9101785091401521278456"

It looks like someone used my forum`s name to get the payment info, then he paid to seller and will receive the Airframe.
IMHO this is better to use Bladeforums messages for the seller and buyer to discuss about payment and shipping. When you sell a knife - please be sure that guy is THAT guy who posted "I`ll take it"

To the person who get the Airframe - you`re smart. Too smart to be alive :D

I bought something off of ebay one time. Then I got an email from the seller saying that he got an email from another guy saying I didn't want to buy the item, and that I said he could buy it instead.

That's the way of the world, there are a lot of people out to screw you. At least you didn't lose any money.

I'm not sure I understand exactly what happened. This isn't a case of a similar username here, is it? Somebody just sent an email and claimed to be you?

In the past trolls have opened accounts with a similar username to a regular to cause trouble, 0ilman for Oilman for instance (easy to see the difference when the two are right next to each other) but I don't think that's what happened here, is it? I tried a search and didn't find a user with a similar name to yours....

If you had your location visible do you think it may have prevented it? Don't know that I'd worry too much, though - they gotta get caught as often they get away with it.

Thanks, it`s good idea.
I think there is no another user with same name here, someone just sent the message to seller with "Kristopher Robin" signature, sent the paypal and has given his address for shipping. I asked seller about that guy`s email or shipping address, but still have no answer.

Well there's an easy solution, if he hasn't shipped it out yet. Keep the funds as a fine for impersonation.

Problem solved.

Well if the thief used paypal they know who it is and so does the seller:eek: maybee he will post his name and contact paypal to do a investigation if we get a name from paypal account spark or someone here should be able to cross reference BF membership names :D
Thanks, it`s good idea.

also if the seller hasnt shipped he should refund the fake buyer by hitting the refund link on paypal and proceed with the sale with you.

That's what I was thinking too. Something sounds wierd with this whole thing. Either the seller is lying or we're not understanding the whole story.

What really bothers me is it sounds like the kind of trick one of the swindlers who've been banned from Bladeforums but hang around trying to swindle people in email would try. Seems he's already paid, but he could do a chargeback after he gets the knife. I'm afraid the seller is going to get cheated too. :(

Sneaky. Spark or someone should definitely contact the seller to get the "buyer's" info, so that it can be stickied. This might keep others from getting swindled.

I'd rather not post advice for swindlers. Suffice it to say the (apparent) fact the impersonator paid in advance by PayPal doesn't prove he isn't planning a swindle.
