I pack waaay too heavy lately, and if I'm going out for an extended stay, I need to not have to pack a larger pot. I'm looking for a smaller container to boil/purify water in that I can just place in a fire that has a method to retrieve it easily/safely. Generally the only thing I bring camping is my backpack (now a condor II), so it can't take up too much space.

maybe you should look into the bcb crusader cook kit? i've got one and combined with a pop can stove works great as a compact system for boiling and cooking.

Another idea is to use a coffee can with coat hanger handle. I have several in various sizes. They work great!

here is a couple of options for ya

then just put the other canteen cup on top inverted and you now have 2 can teen cups
and a water bottle

I also use the steel nalgene water bottle and then a snow peak Mini SOLO cooking kit

Bryan.

I am looking into getting one of the Guyot stailess bottles. Will it fit into the mini solo main pot.

I'm trying to get a mug pot for it that has greater capacity than the 16oz. capacity of the GSI glacier cup.

I just picked up a Snow Peak Mini Solo titanium set yesterday. Cup, cook pot, and lid all nest around a nalgene bottle and pack inside a Tactical Tailer 1 qt canteen holder. (bottle goes in the pot which goes in the cup, the lid I tied a loop of 550 cord through the handle and lid goes in pouch 1st then the set slides in on top.) The whole set up including the pouch was 78.00.
