Something small/packable to boil water in.

Whats the fly swatter for? Something other than its intended purpose I would assume? :D

That's for pesky Nebraska flies. When they get bored pestering cattle, they come for us!

In response to the original post, I just picked up an 18oz widemouth Klean Kanteen that looks like it will work pretty slick. It fits perfectly inside my Maxpedition Fatboy, which is what it's for.

I really like my Guyot/Nalgene. I added a small fishing leader to suspend it over the fire. Works great!

Wild mike yep it fits just fine. I love that set up. I have several of them. I like having a pot with a lid and then the small cup that comes with it also. Try it out I think you will like it.

As to the fly swater it is jut for that swanting flies. I just cut it down some so it would fit in my kit. There is always one or two flies that are a real bother. but after I get the fly swater out and use it lol, I will be fly less for a little while lol.

Liam ryan lol, thanks Yea it may look a little wierd but I do not care lol. as long as it works for me.

Rocketbomb, you are so right lol. I tell ya there will really be just one or 2 flies that will just be suck a nuissence. Then I swat them and at least for a little while be fly free lol. The smoke from my fire does help to, but sometimes them flies just do not get the hint.

I use a small stainless cup with a folding handle for just about everything. The handles don't get too hot and you can wedge a stick between them to move it into or out of the coals. Since I bought it, I've never wanted anything else. Unfortunately, I can't remember what the brand is. :p

Hard to beat a Sierra cup for small. I still have my original from the 60's. In my other packs I like that Snowpeak titanium .85l pot.

The image shows my Bagmaster converted pistol pouch with the Sierra cup attached to the outside. It clips on a belt and holds everything one might need for an unexpected night or two in the desert (where I mostly hike). About 4"x6"x2".

I like the pot from the Snow Peak mini solo cookset.
I think that Bryan first suggested this to me.
It fits over a Nalgene or Guyot bottle.

This is what I use also. It works great for solo hikes and camping, but sometimes I have to carry two if I need to boil water to fill up my Nalgene. The good thing about these is the Nalgene fits right inside of it. One cup on the bottom of the Nalgene and one on the top, so it doesnt take up anymore space than a Nalgene alone.

GI canteen, ss cup and burner for me. You can burn anything under the cup. Esbit, triox, hexamine, wood etc etc
