I'm trying to figure out how I'd use it.

Me too, but I'm in love with it. I have to find a reason to don't scream "i'll take it". Sorry Gerry, I have to check with myself about my monthly expense first.
If not now, definitely I want one.

If anything, I'd like to have one that I could strap to my own spear stick. The spear is superb.

Gerry, what is the intended use ?
if end of handle was modified to accept a shaft, one could make it into a spear. i've wanted to try spear hunting deer for some time. in early september the deer here are still in 'lolligag' mode and if you are relaxed, you can get pretty close.

I haven't come up with a use for one these myself but they sure are fun to make. The new power hammer lets me move a lot of steel and I can be a little more creative without wearing out my old geezer arms. I sold one of these at a show last week-end because the guy thought it would make a great hog sticker; anything to get further away from those tusks I guess. I have been thinking about posting just the spear end with a hidden tang that someone could drill into and epoxy to the end of their walking staff or make a real spear. I know a guy that killed a bear with a spear but it would have to be much larger and heavier than this one.

If you were to make a series of spear heads like you describe, I'm sure they would sell like hot cakes. I'd buy one. I was thinking something more conventional like a flat tang with holes in it that you could slide into a slot on a pole and fasten, either with cordage or pins. That was my exact idea, a walking stick attachment. Offering a sheath would be a must for these as well since they're going to be sharp.

Gerry by all means different, but nice. Does a maker good to get out of a regular day by day grind. Sure helps to keep from burning out.................

My thought exactly Mike. This is one of the reasons I quit taking orders: I want to do it my way rather than become a manufacturer or a flap folder in the box factory.

That is one of the most interesting pieces I've seen in a long time!! Need to make more of those when I am better able to snag one!!

Gerry, if you are going to make more as spear heads, try to come up with a way of easily attaching and detaching from the shaft. it would take a few tries to make a shaft just the right length & weight for good flight.
