Would you believe that this knife that I got two weeks ago on the exchange is the same knife as the one below it? I cleaned the handle with comet and a brush and I stripped the blade with Jasco and lightly sanded it by hand for an hour. BAM!!! Instant Royalty

How it came

How I just finished it

This knife was so dirty it was amazing. I don't think it has ever been cleaned or sharpened in its 18 years of existence. It was still shaving sharp.

Good for you

Just remember if you get an oldie, wash it. There is a good chance there is a gem hidden there. How is your hunt for a B9 going?

There was a minty one on eprey with original box, sheath and papers for $699 buy it now only.

this one.

Oh my, that is drop dead beautiful! If you get tired of any of those SHBM's please drop me a line. They seem to disappear faster than I can get to them.

Now that you have ruined the original finish, I'd give you a 100 bucks for it.

Let me tell you, the original Busse smooth coat is made from kryptonite. It is ten times tougher than todays coatings. It was such a pita to remove. I took the handles off and did about 5 applications of Jasco stripper and brass brushed it. Then 320 grit finish and wallah, done.

I am down to very few. But the good thing is I won't be jumping on any that pop up. So one less competitor.

I'm looking for a B9 asym user, but not at 699. :barf:

And it's 'voila' not 'walla'. N'est-ce pas? :D

Interesting about the old coating.. Wonder what it was?

I don't know but I hate it. It was way to effective. I have asked often and no info given. But it is much harder to remove than the new coatings. And if you use the citristrip, it just laughs at it.

True, but they were accepting offers.

I feel like that's code for you got it for 250. Could I possibly get it in writing that you won't be going after anymore.... I don't believe you have the will power sir, I know I don't

Well, I will tell you this. If another 1/300 pops up, I will ignore it for at least a day or two. But if it sits there long enough, I may take it. I was not far from taking the other one that popped up.

oh, and no not 250

That turned out great!
I imagine the old smooth coat is some sort of pre-epa regulated stuff that worked so well it was deemed necessary and proper to put the kibosh to it...

So to summarize this thread: If a guys gets hold of an old mistress, he should wash her, strip her and only use his hands on her, no power tools... Noted, Sir. :D

Yeah, and when someone steals her original dress, you then go out and find her a nice replacement
