Sometimes a Queen can clean up nicely

Here is a video of the stuff I used. Look at how it takes the crappy coating off the Becker BK7. I wish Busse would use those crappy coatings.

oh and it took two cans and 5 hours to get the stuff almost all off.

That's a very cool video Cobalt, thanks for posting it. That Jasco stuff is the right kind of remover for that black stuff, what is the black stuff? Do you know? Teflon maybe? I wonder if it works for DLC coated blades. Anyway, thanks man, happy Christmas!

Not sure what Becker uses, but I wish Busse used it. It would have made my life easier. The nice thing about Jasco is that it is odorless. Do not get Klean Strip professional with ammonia in it. You cannot get close to it. IT is horrible stuff.

Thanks for the tips Cobalt. I apologize for all these questions, I am a new Busse fan, I only have an ASH1 right now but I'm expecting about 8 blades from these last months' feeding craziness; yeah it is total craziness, I'm addicted beyond remedy.

But anyway, if you don't mind me asking another question, why do you like to remove the coating from your Busse knives? Is it just a cosmetic thing, or do they perform better? I like the coating, and to be honest with you I don't think ill use them often, my back is all messed up due to an accident; that said, I also like the looks of satin finished blades, sorry, I talk too much but I'm just curious.

I do i because after some use coatings look like crap. I'd rather make it satin or bead blast and I can clean it up at will. But if I have one I don't use, I don't remove the coating.

My Basic 9 has that original smooth coating and I agree - it's tough as hell.

I've beat the absolute crap out of it and it shrugs off most stuff.

Cobalt, good job Bro!! she was and is a beaut!!!

RG, hope cobalt don't mind me asking in his thread wanted to see if you got a pm I sent you??

Would you believe that this knife that I got two weeks ago on the exchange is the same knife as the one below it? I cleaned the handle with comet and a brush and I stripped the blade with Jasco and lightly sanded it by hand for an hour. BAM!!! Instant Royalty

How it came

How I just finished it

This knife was so dirty it was amazing. I don't think it has ever been cleaned or sharpened in its 18 years of existence. It was still shaving sharp.

She is amazing Cobalt!!

Congrats!!!!!
