Resended! My bad a misread. You're screwed. LolWhere'd you see that?
This is what I found:
Blade or edge- Broken tip from prying or dropping, chipped edge or broken serrations, destroyed edge due to improper sharpening, rust due to neglect or other blade issues. Spyderco does not replace blades. Depending on the blades condition we may be able to re-profile or re-serrate.
I love the idea to grind it down like that! It looks (will look) very comfortable in hand. When removing the rear of the handle, will the lock bar be ok? That is a lot of material to remove.
One of the reasons I like BM and KAI.
Replace the blade charge.
Snapping a Blade always sucks.
and not to rehash a Beaten horse.
BUT.
One of the reasons I like BM and KAI.
Replace the blade charge.
Compared to SOL..
Spend a couple C-notes.
Still hope Spyderco will offer that service someday
Maybe cut the handle off right after the last screw?
I don't want to start anything with this, but the fact that BM and KAI do this makes me feel like they sell their knives expecting them to break. I wouldn't want to choose my knives based whether the manufacturer can fix me abusing it.
Nope, they just know people are retards and will use a knife to pry! (Myself included). And, it's for those people that use the hell out of their knife, resulting in major wear. Instead of buying a new knife, you can pay $35 for a new blade.![]()
Got nothing against Spyderco really like the Para 2 but what happened to the OP is what i imagine happening to me cause i am not kind to my knives sometimes
Exactly. Well said my aquatic friend! 😜I appreciate that there are companies that offer a warranty on their blades or offer blade replacement plans. I was only pointing to the fact that the cost of that program ends up being reflected in the price of the knife. Depending on how you use your knife and how prone you are to breaking blades, it might or might not be beneficial to pay a little extra for that level of warranty. As kerosene said, I use the hell out of my knives, but I somehow never manage to break the blades on them so I'm glad there are some companies that don't have the cost of this coverage factored into their prices. I can certainly see it from both perspectives. I'm glad that both options exist so that we can individually choose which works for us. I don't see one as inherently better than the other. It's nice to have options. Chocolate and vanilla.
