Song Lyric Quote

q -
The moon sheds light
when all is dark
the dog's reaction is to bark.
Is that the moon's fault?
Tell me true
Tis the dog's nature
So to do.
The moonlight fills all heaven with mirth

The Dogs A Vapor - Bauhaus

Q:
Walking through the desert
Hearing Nazi bells ringing from the church to farm
That was never there
Imagine I'm in heaven, but it is a hell
Sun is drying out my brain

I'm going mad---by the Scorpions.

finally, one I could answer.:D

"The world begins to disappear
The worst things come from inside here
And all the king's men reappear"

Einstein on the Beach by Counting Crows

The preacher asked her
And she said I do
The preacher asked me
And she said yes he does too

Lyle Lovett- She's No Lady

"Between Marx and Marzipan
in the dictionary
there was Mary..."

Short Answer by Billy Bragg --- I'm surprised anyone your side of the Pond has heard of him!

Here's something reasonably obscure ;)

"Assassin with a gun
He wants to be the one
To terminate the Scarlet curse"

Roger

A: Mysterons - Geezer

Yes, my bad, I guess it was too obscure :D

Q: "He do the song about the sweet lovin' woman
He do the song about the knife"

Excellent! I may not agree with all his political views but he has written some brilliant songs and I especially like his old post-punk jangly guitar and vocal stuff from the mid-80s.

Here's something for the UK crowd - maybe....

"There’s a stay dog she feeds, that she found in the street
And he loves her to hold him, but he won’t let her keep him"

Here's something a bit unusual...

"Helen of Troy in a wet T-shirt,
Pagan demolition in a micro skirt.
Mystery girl, Babylon's whore,
Delilah with a chainsaw busting down the door."

With you on the politics- I can follow his line of reasoning a while but he goes off the deep end from time to time. The man does write a damned fine love song, his lyrics are about the most clever out there and ya gotta love the 'jangly guitar'
