I didn't think I would like this knife pattern at first glance but am glad I pulled the trigger on a GEC 63. I think the acrylic pattern resembles scales on a fish[emoji226]

Great photos stormy The acrylic does resemble the scales of a fish and that subtle jigging that peeks/peaks out even more enhances the subtle styling of the covers.

I have a blue northwoods Hawthorne warnecliffe. This easily my most carried knife. My only regret is that I didnt by the clippoint hawthorne as well. I really like the size and shape of the 48 frame. With the Hawthorne beening an all steel knife it really has a nice weight and feels great in hand.

I've had the stockman for a couple years, but the moose arrived today.

Colonial "Royal Ambassadors" Scout Knife. I've had this one since I was 6 or 7 years old, I believe; probably longer than any other knife I own.

I wasn't all that crazy about "Blue Knives" but there are some absolutely stunning examples here. This Trapper is my only blue as of now.

I've been eyeing up this line-- such a perfect shade.

Does the knife have '2015' (pre)engraved on the pile side...?

~ P.

I agree, it is a really nice shade of dark blue. And yes, it does have "2015" engraved on the pile side cover.

I just posted this in the sodbuster thread but I promised I'd show it here too. I just finished my blue burlap scales tonight. Got it sharpened up and ready to go in my pocket for tomorrow.

And here showing that I added a half stop

An updated pic of my Gunny. I had the ramp removed. And a more pocketable version, the Bravo Necker II arrived yesterday. Both with Blue Denim Micarta handles.

Swinging back through, I was riveted by this one again:

What a stunning knife!

I've seldom seen other than stock photographs of these, and none as clear as yours-- very nice blue, that.

I had the blue camel bone 25 arrive last week and the novelty knife arrived this morning.

That's the spirit! I also like the lil' blue car. :D

Really great stuff, Trand! I especially like the looks of the smaller knife (not that the larger Gunny isn't fine, I just gravitate towards small fixed blades). I wasn't sure exactly what you meant by the Gunny's "ramp," so looked up your earlier image. Here is the Before view, for others' visual reference:

I like the change.

Thanks Jeff and P :)

Here's another picture that shows the ramp on the Gunny. You can use your thumb on it but I've heard its meant to be a striker for a fire starter. The Bravo Necker II looks like a much smaller knife compared to the Gunny but its deceptive in hand. You get a full 4" handle on the Gunny and only 3 1/2" on the Necker but because of how far forward your hand is compared to the Gunny, it feels bigger. Adding a lanyard helps too. Also, the blade is only about 1/4" shorter on the Necker. I like my sub 4" fixed blades too :)

This thread has taught me two things:

I need more blue knives.

I NEED more Hawthornes!
