Song Sung BLUE: Blue-handled Traditional Knives

Great thread, I've been enjoying "the blues".
Haven't seen this one posted yet (unless I missed it) nor have I seen the sun in quite awhile. So indoor lighting will have to do even though it causes this shade of blue to appear nearly black.

A new acquisition facilitated by our own Railsplitter. 2007 Cannitler in Royal Blue Bone and D2. Thank you for the heads up Rick! I'd been looking for one like this for a while. Forgive the adhoc photo.

I've often admired the Cannitler pattern from afar. Very cool!

Except, where's the blue.

:p

... I imagine the color is deep and rich in person, similar to the Schatt & Morgans shown earlier in this thread.

Still: if and when the sun comes out again, I'd love to see a picture in garish lighting. :)

It's supposed to be a royal blue, but it's really navy, almost black in certain light. But, you can see the blue in better light.

(I'm giving away the knife in the foreground, here. Come play!)

Picked this one up from Ryan Daniels at the knife show yesterday. 2016 Queen Railsplitter in blue bone.

Hoo, boy, that's nice.

(Am I remembering correctly that a "Railsplitter" pattern is pretty much Queen's domain?)

Thanks, Sarah! Yes, Queen is the only maker that currently makes this pattern. Colt makes one that is casually referred to as the Railsplitter but Colt's official name for the pattern is Rancher Stockman.

I only have a couple of blue handled knives. A Case peanut and a Bulldog jack with celluloid handles.

Thanks for the information, Rick.

It's dark, but it's there.

Oooooooooh. :)

Two in blue :).

Dang, that steel blue continues to beckon.... Perfect color, that. The pile side '2015' remains my primary hesitation.

Meanwhile, shenanigans: generosity from mrknife and 1066vik, in honor and support of BigBiscuit, somehow led to my receiving this knife in the mail yesterday, a complete surprise:

Thanks so much, guys. I'm humbled-- and thrilled!
