Soooo.... What light accompanies your CRK these days?

What I like best about the v10r is how bright it is on a 16340, and the variable ring for output control. It has to be the simplest UI out there, to me..and it's small enough to disappear in my pocket.

Don't have her yet, but have an order in for an HDS 250 Rotary. Ordered back in Jan, so she should be coming soon.

I waited 6 months for mine and it never showed so I canceled. Hope you get better luck! Kinda glad I did, the Nichia 219 is so awesome.

I was researching lights in the last month or so and was trying to decide if I wanted an HDS. Well, one day I decided I did want one when I saw a post that an HDS dealer had 5 rotaries in stock. I went to the site and ordered the exact configuration I wanted and got it in 2 days. I know that isn't anywhere near the experience of most people that buy HDS lights and I consider myself very fortunate. I will add that it is hands down the best single cell light I have ever experienced in terms of fit and finish and performance. Especially for only $200.00.

Well, they aren't a paid dealer here so I won't mention them by name but it was the first dealer on the HDS site.

I usually carry an Olight S10 or a 4Sevens 123.

I have been thinking about picking up a Maratac AAA--I have heard good things about those.

I have had a Muyshondt Aeon and a McGizmo Haiku on my wants list, but have yet to get either one.

1950's or 60's era Star Headlight and Lantern Company railway car inspector's (car knockers) light that I keep in my truck (bit big for the pocket). A so-called "piece of junk" I bought at a yard sale for $2.00 about ten years ago. Still running with the original anti-glare frosted bulb, with spare bulb in the battery compartment unused. The glass lens is semi-translucent to diffuse the light and prevent weird shadows, which I suppose is important when you are crawling under a boxcar to check the air lines and brakes etc. I've been through many battery packs, and suffer a lot of laughter on the jobs when I bust out this relic, but it works, works, works, flawlessly. I make the fellas apologize before they are allowed to borrow it. A great, very functional, incredibly simple, and indestructible design that has been made for over 70 years, almost unchanged. You can still buy it (with a tiny bit more plastic), and it is still made in upstate New York by the original company. http://www.star1889.com/products/railroad/car-inspectors-light/Star-500C-Car-Inspectors-Lantern.asp

I rotate between a few but today it's a McGizmo Haiku with an XML, it's my favorite by far, just has a superb beam.

Others that get used are a couple of SureFire's, usually either an E1B or an LX2, or a couple of Sunwayman's, either an M11R or an another who's name I forget but is a sweet single cell 123 light with a clip like the E1B.

Too many others to mention but you all know how it is :)

Looks a bit heavy in the pocket. Does it imprint?

:p

No doubt a great light

Might need to get a leather holster for it. Problem is it uses ninety A123 batteries, so is very expensive to run, but also puts out 75,000 lumens before the handle catches fire after three minutes. :D

Fenix ld10. It's quite versatile and I'm never left wanting more power. Plus it's fun to catch people with the ultimate strobe at work.

Carried a newly finished build today- a "recoil thrower" I just put together. Instead of having the emitter mounted in the center of the reflector facing out it hangs down and points into the reflector (like a satellite dish) and the light bounces out, there is zero spill, its 100% hot spot. Very impractical for, well anything really but awesome. At ~70m the spot is ~4"!

The outside is in the middle of being polished so I'm gonna hold off on posting a whole pic but this is the reflector/emitter setup. This is another DIY project (the only lights I've been carrying recently other than my quark or zebralight headlamps) so I'm just showing her off.

(It was not easy to get this pic)

If your serious about wanting to get it up and running I can build a rechargeable pack for you. Let me know if I can help. I have a new tab welder I've been looking for projects to use it on. (Don't worry it'll be much more sound than my home wiring projects lol).
What voltage does it run at and do you know the current draw?

If your looking for info on batteries (for it or anything else) or you want to discuss it further just PM me.

Cooooool......

I ended up with a Bead blasted McGizmo Haiku w/ XP-G2 bin R3 E4, I like it more than my Nichia 219. Basically as Ben said, it is the perfect EDC to go with a Sebenza. No pic yet, but it looks very similar to the ones Ben pictured earlier, just a different clip.
