I've been lurkin' here for a while now, and I must say I'm impressed with yall's subforum. It is informative, enthusiastic, positive, and refreshing. I intend to try to score a GSO 5.1 on Monday so that I can contribute more and lurk less. Wish me luck...!

Couldn't agree more. I am relatively new to BF and have a growing addiction to knives. Then I landed in the Survive! sub-forum and haven't left much. Trying to soak up all things S!K, and basically go back and forth between here and their web site. Can't wait until Monday, and I am trying to figure out how I can watch the site and get any work done. I'm a mess. Really enjoying it here.

Great decision to go with the 5.1 on your first S!K knife. It probably have the best balance between a light chopper and a knife small enough for finer works.

Originally from Kalispell. Long time family in the Flathead valley. Moved all around, including going to school at University of Idaho. Living now in Colorado.

I will be traveling between Spokane and Kalispell this summer - I wonder if S!K would allow a drop in visitor on my way through Kellog?

If I don't get a 5.1 tomorrow, I will be putting a pre-order in on a 3.5

This is bad because whatever time I'm not here, I'm over on the 1911Forum - now there's an addiction...
 
I am glad to see you guys joining in! and I can promise it gets easier. A year ago I had a lone necker and 4.1, now I have 7 with 3 more on order(so far). The regulars here are all really helpful both with information on knives as well as other related topics. You might also want to try and check out the Facebook fan page, if you are into such things. Sometimes some knives pop up there for sale as well.

I love that part of the world. I was in NW Montana (Libby/Kalispell) for about ten years. I moved a bunch growing up. :)

That new 3.5 is really calling to me, even though I've got a current version.

We don't encourage visitors but we don't necessarily discourage them either. Just let us know when you're in the area and we can see what the day holds.

I wouldn't want to be a distraction. I wasn't sure if there was a retail store there or not. In the mean time I am going to be enjoying the 5.1 I ordered today!!

Retail store, that would be awesome because it would mean we actually have stock. Maybe someday. For now, it is just the workshop.
