I tried to get her something nice so she didn't feel left out. But she didnt like the ASH-2 as much as I thought she would.

No Framelocks, What a disappointment that would be.

What other lock type would you prefer? Framelocks are plenty strong for a good folder, perhaps rivaled only by the lockback design in strength. However, a folder that has to be closed with more than one hand would be super lame. Linerlocks scream cheap and most of the other types are just ancient in design. Let's face it, when the Busse folder comes along, I will be all in no matter what the design is. However, I would ultimately prefer a titanium framelock with a MINIMUM 3.5" long and 0.25" thick blade. Anything smaller or less beefy just wouldn't be very Busse-esque. Just my 2 cents.

Busse should stay with fixed blades. No disrespect to folder lovers but busse is the pinnacle of the fixed blade market. I don't see the need for branching out, I like that there are a few out there but it is the grail and lore that keeps it fun and interesting. Can Jerry do it? Hell yes, I don't doubt the MAN in any endeavor he takes on, Jerry hits a grand slam everytime. I will save all my pennies for Busse designs but I'm not a folder guy, that's why I'm here, The Busse sub forum.

Again not to offend anyone who dreams of this or believes it true.

^^^^ i agree I love any of not all fixed blades they put out but being in canada a folder is the most I can carry (in city limits) and know how well built all Busse knives are would feel comfortable knowing im carrying a brand name that feel indestructible to me as a folder!' But yes I love fixed blades more but would love too see a Busse take on a traditional stiletto type switchblade, a OTF switchblade or a balisong! Im sure theyll nail anything they come out with!!

I love fixed blades, but it's also not feasible to carry one every day. I love that Busse has so many designs and would love to see that move over to a folder. It is also understandable that they would have to put some restrictions on their use (i.e. No battening, heavy prying, etc). If they were made to be self serviceable I could see some issues with lost parts or people taking them apart and not knowing how to reassemble or properly tighten the pivot.

Could it cause some issues, sure. Does it make some sense that some caveats to the warranty are placed on them? Again, sure because a folder can't be expected to perform as a fixed blade. Could it open up a whole new market/revenue stream? For sure!

Brandon I can totally respect that. And I do agree! Busse's bread and butter is making the best fixed blade knives in the world. If I was Jerry, I wouldn't take the risk associated with releasing a folder with Busse's name on it simply because of their rock-solid warranty and the need to manufacture a LOT more parts that would be necessary for a folder design. On the other hand, like Adian, I don't carry fixed blades on a daily basis but I DO always have a folder. I love my ZT's and will be getting a couple of Medfords one day but I would love to know that I can carry a Busse folder.

From a business sense, it would probably make more sense to introduce a fifth family company to produce the folders... Then it would make more sense for the warranty to be different

This is a good point.

I have a Medford Stealth, but don't carry it daily, it's my carry when I'm out in the woods. My daily carry to work is a ZT0777 or ZT0392. I do have my eye on a Skike, Marfione, Begg and a couple other folders, if Jerry will ever slacken up on me enough where I can spend the money on them!

Agree completely with Breavis, Busse makes Combat Knives, not envelope openers, what's that saying don't bring a knife to a gunfight, a folder is just going to anger someone, get a concealed carry permit, My understanding is you can now carry a firearm in the open in Texas-a good 45 or 9mm on one hip with a Busse NMSFNO on the other should work

I'll giggle like a little girl, if it's a basic kukri. Highly doubt it's going to be big knives, most likely something small.
