I haven't had many bad experiences on BladeForums. 99% of the deals I've made have been great.

Seventhdaytactical (http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/member.php/400178-seventhdaytactical) purchased a Hinderer from me on February 10 (http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1260835-Hinderer-XM-18-3-5-skinner-LNIB-510). He offered me $400 plus a Spyderco Para 2 to fill out the deal.

I received the $400 very fast. I mailed the knife the next day and he "mailed" the Para 2 the next day as well. He received the Hinderer. I received a watch and some trash Gerber knife. Prior to us settling on the deal he had offered me this watch. I said no, I didn't want the watch because it wasn't my style.

Lo and behold the watch showed up three days later instead of the Para 2. I emailed him about it and "his wife" apparently sent the wrong package to me. Seventhdaytactical apparently traded or sold this watch to someone else and said his wife must have sent the Para 2 to him and the watch to me.

I said fine just have the guy mail the Para 2 back to you and then mail it to me. When I get tracking I'll send you the watch.

The Para 2 never showed up. He blamed it on the weather. I'm thinking that he lied about his wife mailing me the Para 2 and never intended on sending me the knife.

That was the last I heard from him. This was back on February 14 and my last email from him was on February 21. He doesn't respond to emails and is hardly on BladeForums.

So, he didn't "totally" rip me off. But it's still low that he didn't complete the entire deal. He also said the knife was for his son, and if that's true, I really feel sorry for him. To lie to get a gift for your son isn't a way to instill good morals.

Oh well.
 
is seventhdaytactical aware of this thread?

mistakes or not......he should have at least tossed you 118 + bucks to cover you getting your own pm2.
 
He is. I told him yesterday morning that I would make a Feedback thread, and give him negative feedback, if he didn't respond to my email.

Prior to that email I had sent him four emails spread out over 6 days asking him for updates. Nothing in return.
 
Although hindsight is 20/20, it would have been wise to insist on completion of payment from someone with only one feedback before you shipped the knife.
Hope it all works out and you get what was promised you.

True. That would have been the best road. I put too much faith in the tracking number.
 
According to his visitor messages, apparently you aren't the only one left holding the bag by seventhdaytactical.
 
I wouldn't trust a registered user to trade with unless they sent me the knife first and recieved it. Registered user has nothing to lose if he rips you off and even the cost membership is alot less than the cost of the para if they end up getting banned. This is not right at all. You deserve cash instead of the watch/knife or the para sent to you. The "it's someone else's fault cause I didn't take care of shipping it" is a poor excuse. And most liking a lie.Heard it here many times.Even if his wife did mail it it's still his responsability to correct this mistake and complete the agreed to deal. This needs to be resolved. Can't just get away with it. How much is the watch worth?
 
I really think that unless there is a wonderful explanation coming from the buyer, and with it a quick resolution, he just needs to get banned.

Maybe I am really wrong here, but at some point, BF is going to have to get tougher with issues like this.
If there is zero interest on the part of the buyer to fix this mess, then a message has to be sent to the rest of the community.

Regardless of what your membership level is, how long you have been here, etc.
If you have no interest in being a human being, you don't belong here.
There are always two sides, and I get that. But many times, it's just cut and dry fraud.

These guys need to be identified and shown the door.

I agree with this 100%. We should also do w/e we can to help everyone knows about these guys once it has been determined/agreed that they are scammers. The OP here seems to be very understanding, this is a complete rip off, seventhdaytactical did not keep up his end, period.
 
I also just posted this on his IG page. If he doesn't respond on here, I'm going to post a warning on the popular #knifesale and on my page sending the warning to everyone. Really tired of all these scammers taking advantage of the knife community, I'm going to start blasting them wherever they promote at. That's only if they are proved to be scammers, in this case its pretty clear.

There's too many places to hide, too many platforms now.
The internet can be made much smaller as you have just proved.

You can kill his ability to do this again, and that is more then deserved.
I hope he shows up and proves me wrong....

I also did a deal with him. I was told the knife was for his son coming back from bootcamp. The deal went ok. I did get cash and a mini grip and a pm2 but was promised another $20 because after we made the deal he gets back to me and says. That was for a flamed strider right??? When clear as day it was stonewashed. I did agree i would sell him one of my flamed ones after the fact because it was for his son who did not want anything that could be reflective if he had to use while deployed. I never got my $20 he was short. I trusted him. Then the day after he gets my smf he is trying to trade it for a hinderer. Then i have a guy message me on instagram and asked if i had seen his mini grip he payed for. I said yes i got it in a trade from him and had sold it already. So the guy sells the knife never sends to the buyer and trades with me....Long story short. STAY AWAY.....FAR AWAY...

This guy is ridiculous. Gotta ask why you didn't give him negative FB? Or the other guy he sold too? there is way to many people coming forward about this guy. He really can't explain himself out of all of it. Anybody that can give this guy Neg FB should. I'm sure the MODS will take care of it if he gives you NEG FB in return by removing it. CAUSE HE DESERVES IT! Should just be banned. Was the guy looking for his mini grip that he bought from SDT a member here? Should tell him to say what happend with his deal with SDT as well.

This guy has too many people coming forward and shady crap. I really hope the mods look at all this and the MIA and ban hammer him. Knives for his kid in the service sounds like fake stolen valor to me.

I had already left feedback. Once i got my 2 knives and figured the deal was done. It was $20 . I thought he would send in a week like he said. The other guy was from instagram.
 
He's ripped off at least 3 people on Instagram and has gone dark on his account. He's bad news for sure.
