Aha, it's a military overrun - that explains the secrecy, the blades must be sterile & whoever the spooky types are who bought them needed to be sure that they remained that way. Thus perpetual nondisclosure of pics/video/description was a term of the contract for purchase from Busse - i.e. if discovered somewhere naughty the provenance remains unknown. "Can't prove it was us, we were all at a ball game at the time, never seen the knife before, kinda looks Russian actually, have you asked Moscow?" etc etc.

Note that I am deducing this from the forum posts - I have never heard of the knife before today. So I'm not spilling any beans that were entrusted to me to remain unspilled. And to my dying day no one will ever be able to force me to admit whether or not (as legend has it) there was in fact an INFI spork that folded into the handle.

I will tell you he "couldn't" provide me a picture of a MINI EU-17 that he misadvertised as a regular EU-17 but had no problem providing me readily available pictures of the SOUL. He then told me who they were made for and the price, and then told me that there was a "responsibility" to keep the info "close to the vest." So apparently he knew what he was supposed to do and still had no problem violating Jerry's trust and the conditions associated with the blade(s).

I just went through 23 days of dealing with him and at least 3/4 of that was trying to get my money back. He makes plenty of excuses for not meeting his end of a deal and clearly demonstrates that he couldn't really care less about you. I posted negative feedback on the other forum and I hope that no one ever deals with him. If you do I'm sorry for you, but in my opinion NO blade is worth the crap I went through.

Thanks, I've read Eric's post at least twice as it is also quoted in Leatherman's post (#36). I do not doubt his veracity or yours when you both assert that the scumbag in question is violating an agreement with Jerry concerning an extremely rare blade that he seems to have once been privileged enough to receive. I agree that his actions are unacceptable. I do not wonder what all the fuss is about but I have no desire to see or acquire one. I'm not interested in the blade itself and do not want to increase my risk of ostracism from this group when, on occasion, my posts seem to pose sufficient risk themselves.
The secrecy surrounding the knives in question arouses curiosity and brings to mind possible scenarios concerning the unethical and items that are rare, desirable (to some), and about which so little is known that they could be almost anything. A situation rife with possibilities, all bad. As seems appropriate for this situation, only a very few old guard HOGs appear to know what is actually going on while the rest of us, the vast majority, are left to speculate. I've done mine and perhaps it shows only that I have too much free time on my hands. Thanks for listening.

My mother told me that I was born without a soul. I've never met anyone that has anything resembling a soul that I would want. Now, a Mistress? That's a very different matter.;):D

Ouch... Man, if you can''t have a successful deal with SNAFU, you just ain't trying at all! He is the guy that I bought my satin/GL Meaner from, one of my first few purchases here on BF.com, and it was a transaction that was completely smooth from start to finish.

OTOH... Considering the Seller that SNAFU just talked about in the quoted text above, I'm not surprised one bit about how he was treated. I went over to the other Forum and read the feedback thread... Apparently 'gprippers' has no respect for anyone.

As for the pix of the Soul he sent... No surprise there either, and I imagine that eventually these pix will leak out onto the net where they will be easily found, as 'gprippers' is obviously sending them to anyone who asks... :thumbdn:

Sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience with that transaction, SNAFU. We know that you're a good guy, and that this Seller is the exact opposite.

Regarding the SOUL pics, unless Jerry himself asks me to send them anywhere they will never leave my hands.

I'm just glad its over and I hope that anyone that reads my post will never deal with him.
 
I've been thinking about buying whatever Souls he's got just to get them off the streets.

Not really my kind of blade, but at least they would be safe.

Who runs that site and if the guy is a HOG (probably is?) why is it okay for him to keep that info out in the open, but if anyone asks here, everyone says not to even say the name of the knife?

I'm having trouble reconciling these conflicting messages. I know Jerry has old threads that discuss or reference the knife. If the mere mention of it is sacrilegious here on BF (while mention of it elsewhere is seemingly A-OK) why are those posts out in the open for anyone to search and read?

I have no problem with keeping the Soul knives hush hush, I managed to get about as much information as was needed to satiate my curiosity without drawing attention to the fact they exist. So I don't start threads and I try to respect the Boss and the old hog's wishes to be discreet.

I just don't understand why the information that's already out there, such as it is, is allowed to exist and remain while any new inquiries are stomped down with angry hooves?

How many SOULs are you bringing to INDY 1500? 10, 20, 36?:confused:

I need some BUSSE funds, so I'm offering armed security, at reasonable rates to all HOGS at the 1500. It's ok, I got Barb-B-Q as my backup. Ain't no body gonna mess with her and INFI!!

Maybe I'm wrong, but there seems to be a good bit of vitriol here, which is a bit confusing coming from a guy who buys and sells Busses as much as you do...and often at pretty high "secondary market" prices.

Consider this: BF is not a democratic people's republic; it's a website owned by one man. The Busse subforum is a room in Spark's home being rented by Jerry Busse. This means that Jerry, who still has to abide by rules set forth by Spark, controls what can be discussed in HIS room of the BF house.

But we're all competent people here, and we know this...so what was the point of the above post? Was it to challenge the Busse business ethic, or the rules of the forum? What, exactly, were you hoping to accomplish?
