Two great knives - two great steels:

Since I have been EDC'ing the Military for a while now (which is very light), the SF feels heavy by comparison. The SF feels substantial in the hand - like it can take tough jobs without breaking a sweat. I need to reprofile the edge, like I do with all new knives I get, but I will first use it in the kitchen for a little while to get a feel of how it works (my current kitchen knife is a Mule).

Great photos guys. :)

I am sure you will enjoy using them a lot. :D

wquiles, thanks for the pictures. I can't view pics hosted on image websites, so it's nice to have some pics I can atually see! :D

This thing feels like a custom. I have a hard time remembering it's a production blade every time I play with it. It truly is a great knife. I am looking foward to Phil Wilsons write up about it.

One really has to hold one to understand how good it really is. :D

IMO it's the best production knife I have tested and or held.

Got it in today, will post pics later. But for now i can say that it is awesome, it looks so plain and simple yet elegant. Can't wait to put it to use.

I think Spyderco hit a home run with this one. Hopefully it will show Sal our interest and fondness of S90V.

Just got got mine as well and it has an incredible feeling in hand. Can't wait to do some cutting with it!

Mine arrived a couple of days ago. Beautifully finished and very sharp. So far I've only used it in the kitchen--it's the first field type knife I've had that is actually effective against a cutting board. I'm wondering how well it will perform field dressing deer. I've always used drop points for hunting, got this because I wanted something more generally useful. Anyone used one for hunting yet?

Phil's designs that I have used have all done well in the kitchen because they are optimized for slicing and cutting so that does transfer well into kitchen use.

Everything one really needs in a knife with nothing that isn't needed.
