Man I'm getting excited! I've got so much stuff to get done. It's tough havin this day job.I've got to finish my forge and buy a truck:) I put a post in the community forum about that. I've been putting a list of stuff to bring and I just cant do it with my car so neccesity deems a truck must be purchased. I've been looking for an excuse for a while now:D

As bad as I hate to say it, I might not be able to make it. I'll know more as the week progresses.

You damn well better make it, Kit. I promised my son he's going to meet the famous Kit Carson so he'll be VERY disappointed if he doesn't. It doesn't really matter that he thinks you've been dead for 150 years... :)

Hey Y'all,

I'm getting pretty excited too. Yesterday I just finished putting together a heavy portable wooden anvil stand. Have not tested it out yet, though, I hope it does its job well enough to be useable. I'm also bringing 100 lbs anvil, 2 burner propane forge, all my hammers, steel, saw/w cutoff wheel on it, tongs, heavy leather gloves, etc. I can't wait to start sucking up all the knowledge that is going to be there. I've never met any other knifemakers face-to-face in a learning environment, so this is going to be quite an experience for me. I have high hopes that this weekend will give me new stuff to do for months afterward.:D Can't wait! See Y'all there!

Chuck

I sure hope to see you there Kit.
Just in case we get as far as needing to temper some blades, could someone bring a toaster oven? I dont have one.

Hey Folks,
Deb and I are heading out tomorrow around noon. We're gonna take small leaps down towards Blairsville. We will be staying in Winston -Salem tomorrow night and make a stop in at Kayne and Son early in the A.M and then on to Blairsville. I hope Isodore has'nt scared anyone from not coming.Cant wait. Deb and I will be at cabin #1 at Trackrock. If you get in Friday look us up. We still have the extra bedroom at the cabin if anyone wants to share.

Never have I seen people who were strangers in the AM become friends by the PM as quickly as this splendid group. I am proud to have been able to make the acquaintance of everyone that attended and hope that it continues long into the future! This weekend was a memorable one for me and I sincerely hope that I can be part of the next meeting!

Yea, guys, make me feel even worse for not making it:)
Sounds like all had a really great time. I'll sure try to make the Second Annual Blairsville Hammer In..

Awww.....wasn't the intention Kit.

We're all pretty wound up over how well it went. I had a blast (in addition to seeing family who also attended) and I think everyone else did too. Deb forged her first blade there. :)

Who has the list of everyone who made it? I knew some of the folks but I need to put names on a coupla pix

Regards,

Pat
