As some of you know, I acquired some spalted maple blocks. I have these cut so the end grain is the main face. This is very beautiful spalting with various light spots, and some black lines forming cells. These have been professionally stabilized by Dutchman Stabilizers. I wiped the blocks with a light coat of mineral spirits to show the true colors and lines that the stabilizing wash out a little.

Blocks #1 - 8 are 1-1/4" thick, and at least 1-3/4" wide by 5" long. $30 each

Blocks #9 - 29 are 1-1/4" thick, and at least 1-3/4" wide by 5-1/2" long. $30 each

Blocks #30 - 35 are 1-1/4" thick, and at least 1-3/4" wide by 7-1/2" long. $35 each

I will ship via flat rate, and I will see how much I can fit into an envelope or box per person.

Now for the blocks!

Mike, What kind of stabilization are these? I looked up Dutchman but couln't find out if these are monomer/acrilic resin or something else. Can you tell us?

They do not specifically describe their process, except that it is similar to the competitors. The blocks feel/smell just like polymerizing resins. They have a website at dutchmanstabilizers.com and a forum at knifedogs.com

Beautiful Blocks Mike!
Sure is a lot of blackline in those. Good prices for stabilized. It's tough to get good photos of end grain wood before it is finished. I think your customers are in for a pleasant surprise.
