Spanto or Slicer, which do you prefer?

Let's keep it rolling. I carry a 3" slicer on a daily basis (which will eventually be replaced by a 3" wharnie but that is a different topic). There is a fairly small difference between the production slicer and the production spanto as the blades are the same thickness, but the spanto is a more robust grind. I should weigh the blades some day to compare them.

Ahh the wharnie, someone had to introduce the wharnie into the mix. :D:thumbup: How awesome RH Knives offer such choices.

Happy usage, Happy 4th!!!

"Its quality and detail rivals that of CRK in everyway". Really, most of us on the "Hinderer" sub forum think that Hinderers surpass CRK :). Congrats on your new purchase and you can't go wrong with either style.

It's like comparing apples and oranges, they're both so different and have different uses. I love both.

As for preferred grind, that's a tough call. Here Stateside I carry a slicer everywhere I go. When I was in the Sandbox I preferred a Spanto just because sometimes I had to abuse the knife to do what needed done. I knew I could count on the thickness of the Spanto to hold up and I was right. If I get the chance to go back over I'll have Spantos with me, an 18 and a 24. Rob knows which 18 it'll be.
