That pattern is really sharp!! I tuned mine up a little by adjusting the pivot and applying a little Weapon Shield CLP to the pivot and lock face...it opens and closes like butter now!Got my first SHF, a large Octaburst, just before the holidays. So far my biggest gripe is a fair bit of lock stick if I don't scribble pencil on the lock face pretty regularly. The edges are definitely sharp but not enough to be a deal breaker. It is breaking in nicely and I love the handle pattern, though Octaburst is an interesting name for a pattern full of hexagons

This is what I did with all of mine, they have all gotten very smooth over the years. Luckily any lockstick was minimal and faded with use. The tolerances are so tight that I have blade swapped a few with no issues whatsoever and they still remained centered when reassembled. When I got it, I disassembled, cleaned, and lubed it with my preferred products, and the pivot is only as tight as necessary to eliminate blade play. The opening and closing is getting smoother by the day as it breaks in, but in my experience lube on the locking surfaces usually makes lock stick worse. I think with more break in and use it should go away as it seems to be improving with time and use as well.
So you've had some time with it now; what do you think of the SHF?
I like it. It fits great in the hand, is very smooth opening and closing, and the blade came with a good grind, including at the plunge line. Lock up is solid. So you've had some time with it now; what do you think of the SHF?
