SPEC-OPS Sheath for TGLB?

Yours may have been shortened by the previous owner? All of mine stick out like the above pic.

Do You use leather or thermostable gloves after 325 Fahrenheit, or pick it up with clips or pliers?

I just use a kitchen hotpad. Oven mitt would work fine too.

Texican, You have a beautiful knife. And as I see, the insert sticks out from the fabric sheath, so it is a bit longer than mine. Because mine fits exactly to the fabric, I think it is a bit shortened.

None of the Combat Master sheaths I've run across stick out like that. The picture above is the older (and no longer available) Survival sheath, and I think all of those stuck out above the top as above. I'll measure mine in a few, and post a pic or two.

Here are the pics. The Kydex liners are 8.5" long (21.59cm) end to end. The blade of the Basic 8 is 8" long (20.32cm), and my TGLB is 7.875" long (20cm).

Hope that helps!

Yes, I suppose so. As I see the surface of the isert. But ... if I see the attached photos above with the scales and the inserts, and if I measure, I have to say it has the full length.

Funny. I decided not to calculate more, just do it, and check how it will work.

Thank You a lot.

These pics are brilliant for me.

My kydex surface looks like it had suffered a cut, but it is long enough. It is 8.58" (21.8 cm), so it must be full.

Thanks again with the lot of help. I don't count more, start to do it soon, and try to do the best.

Yep, the Combat Master Long fits the TGLB darned near perfect without any adjustment. However, it is pretty easy to warm the Kydex for an exact fit if you like.

FYI, Spec-Ops is no longer using a Chicago screw to hold the Kydex liner in place. Instead, there is a rivet in the Kydex liner, and the liner has Velcro on the back. No hole through the Nylon either as a side-effect.

Here's mine:

Nevermind.

The insert on mine doesn't stick out. My knife fit a bit tight in there but I used my wife's hair dryer to soften it up enough to loosen it up at the top and to form it tighter on the bottom to eliminate a rattling sound I was getting from it.

It's succeeded.

My friend and a heat gun solved the problem. He carved a piece of plywood (with the width and thickness of the blade) to help.

Now my Spec-Ops 7" sheath is brilliant for my TGLB and now my friend has got a bottle of tasty red wine.

Thank You for the measure, tips, and lot of info again.

That's pretty nice. I may do that for my TG. I did something similar - cannibalized the interior of a BK7 stock sheath and and cut it to fit into the spec-ops sheath. Because the SOD does not fit into spec ops kydex. But it fits perfectly in the one that comes with BK7. Now I have a perfect fit spec-ops for my SOD.
