Spec Ops sheath?

PropThePolecat, if you're looking for a sheath to fit the 3, 5, or 7, do a search for Texas Hunt Co. Fieldmaster.
Texas Hunt Co. is a sister company of Spec Ops and aims its line of gear at hunters.
They currently have the long sheath on clearance in walnut, black, and camo.
Apparently, they had the short versions on clearance too, but I missed those.
Aside from labeling, the sheaths are a close mirror to the Spec Ops name brand.
Made in the same factory, I'd bet. I'm still contemplating picking up a camo long before they're gone.
The black sheath above (on the BK3) and the walnut sheath above (on the BK5) are Texas Hunt Co. sheaths.

Guyon, those are some nice looking sheaths (and knives too!)

I did a search for Texas Hunt Co. Youre right, their sheaths look like Spec Op clones. Unfortunately, its the short version im looking for (for my A1). All they have left on their site are the long version.

Looks like im getting one of the Spec Op sheaths. I hope i can get specopbrands.co.uk to order me one in coyote brown.

Thanks all for your responses, and especially to you Guyon for the pics.

i've got a LOT of the combat master sheaths, and various older spec ops floating around. good stuff.

it occurs to me that if i keep neither the fallkniven njord or thor/tor i have for sale, that one of these spare sheaths might come into play. mmm. the stock sheaths are RUGGED but i prefer specops style.

wouldn't mind some of the shorties, sometime.

now, how y'all attaching these sheaths to stuff? molle clips? plastic clips? running cord? whut whut?

The belt loops work great as molle attachments.

Heck, as long as I'm tossing up pics, here's the labeling on said belt loops on a Camillus/Becker Spec-Ops sheath.

Here's a quick primer I posted a while back about modding the liners:

Thanks to riz, I got these upgrade sheaths for a song, and I thought I'd post here about the liner mod mentioned above.

...

The BK-7's thumb ramp is a tight fit, so I did a quick modification as follows...

Remove the liner from the nylon sheath, and dip the end in question into some boiling water. Hold it in for about 30 seconds. BE SURE you have some Krispy Kreme donuts handy.

As soon as you take it out of the water, shove in the knife. I wrap my blades with tape when I do these mods. The liner will shrink just a touch as it cools, so it helps for a better fit if there's a little extra between the liner and the knife. Otherwise, the fit is generally too tight.

The result is a sheath liner fit to the contour of the thumb ramp and a better fit all around.

Thanks for that. Very Helpful. I've got a Texas Hunt sheath coming for a 7, and I'm assuming it would be the same deal with the liner?

Although I personally don't own one, I have heard good things about them. The design they used to create the sheath is very good and I love the way it looks. The only con that I have ever noticed was the split in the top of some of the sheaths. I understand I dont have much knowledge in this particular sheath, but I say they seem like a good purchase

Hey elitebrothers8, every Spec Ops sheath I've seen has the split loops.
It allows you to fasten them to molle attachments as in the above pics.
Or you can straddle them across a belt loop, and your rig won't shift backwards or forwards.

Oh that actually makes alot of sense now that you said that! :p Then it makes the sheath even that much better!

Just got my sheath in Coyote Brown today. Black was too tactical, Olive drab/ACU was too military-looking. Coyote Brown is just right.

Its very well made and fits the A1, lengthwise, just barely. The pouch is smaller than i expected, but im not planning to stuff it with loads of stuff. Im not sure about the split-loops, i think ill have to carry it on several trips before i can conclude anything.

I especially like the glove-friendly oversized thumbstrap!

Thanks for your help fellas...your posts and pictures were greatly appreciated.

Found this thread too late it looks like. Texas Hunt Co seems to be out of the short sheath for my BK2. That is a great value for a nice price.

I just received a Texas Hunt Co. sheath in black. I am impressed  This sheath is very well made and a perfect companion for my BK-7. (I had to use the boiling water trick to get it to fit the insert) Its great and I am very pleased!

As everyone knows I'm a little slow.
So why are these better than the factory sheaths.
Both are canvas or nylon with a pouch on the front.
What makes them so nice.

does the Combat Master allow for a survival tin in the pouch?

or do you need to use something smaller and thinner?

They are well made sheaths. Pouch could hold a multi tool or sharping stone, etc, just the right size IMO. The sheath and pouch are very secure.

It does not. The pouch is relatively small. Itll fit the ESEE firekit and Exotac Matchcap with very little room to spare.

Hope that helped.
