Special Edition 2000 wood inlay

Dennis, much better, very nice too!
Which size is it? hard to tell the small from the large ones...

And DavidC, that is an awesome knife you have there, that wood inlay is sweet! is the blade colourized? I know that they sometimes do a colourization, had the bronze coloured one for a short while, very attractive.

Dennis:

That is one beautiful knife! It looks like a large to me. Hope my small curly maple is that nice! Great picture, I bet they look better in person.

Gary,

The blade is just a regular black and white Damascus. I decided not to go for the colorized blade as the coating is to fragile for a blade that I will use

) Besides, I like the more understated approach. This way, I can touch it up with FeCl3 if necessary.

The spirograph damascus is awesome, and the wood keeps on getting prettier the more I look at and play with it

Gary, It's a large one.

Thanks for the comments on the pictures guys. This photography thing is starting to be fun. Good thing I have lots of subjects.

Scott Dog, I would expect yours to be just as nice. I don't think they know how to make a bad one. Trust me, it's worth the wait.

Mike, that is not a long wait at all. I ordered my 2000 wood inlay 9/16/99. Still waiting on the Raindrop Damascus. Maybe by September if I am lucky. You guy's are definitely not helping me here BTW, posting all of these great pics. I have come close to cancelling at one time and have considered changing my Damascus pattern to speed it's arrival all in an effort to save my sanity. But what the hey, I've come this far I just might as well wait it out and get exactly what I want. A sickness, oh yea!

Blademan:

I think your wait time is a result of the blade material. Bridget told me they were having trouble getting the Damascus steel. The Damascus is pretty but harder to maintain. BG-42 is bullet proof and with reasonable care won't rust. The damascus will make the knife special so hang in there.

I would like to thank everyone that has so far taken part in this thread.

As of last week I ordered a large wood inlay with light wood and am sure I will love it when it arrives.
Please continue with your pictures and comments, and when I get my knife I will post some pictures of it.

Some more beauties for the "family album". Small ones this time. Looks like the big one had kittens.

Dennis:
You post some really nice photos. Those knives are beautiful! What kind of wood are they?
smile.gif

Thanks guys.

The dark one is Burly Maple and the light colored one is Box Elder. The Large one is also Burly Maple.

Dennis:
Are you sure it's not curly maple instead of burly maple? Mine is supposed to be made of curly maple.

I think I need to get one in box elder that looks just like G2's, that picture has been driving me crazy. People are beginning to ask me why I have a knife set up as my wallpaper on my computer at work...

I checked the box
When I undid the locks.

For I had to see
Just what they could be.

I wanted to know,
For you folks that I show.

The wood, if I could
For I know that it's good.

And there it was,
As clear as a bell,

'Tis BURLY not curly!
Now the world I can tell.
