Special Pieces that may not have received Deserved Exposure.

Here's a outstanding Hunting Sword that Rodrigo recently sold via e-mail offering, that some of you may have seen. I expect there's many who have not had the privilege and it's really quite amazing so I'm posting here it for Rodrigo.

I thought it might be good to have a thread to post nice pieces that may not have been exposed to the general knife community. Unfortunately, there's many outstanding knives that go straight from maker's shop to collector safe without ever being exposed to the public.
If you know of any exceptional pieces that meet this criteria, please feel free to post them here.
I feel it's always good to get permission before posting other's knives.

This beauty has a 17" blade is 22 1/2" overal length, forged in random pattern damascus composed of O1/15N20 steels, with integral guard with gold inlay. The handle is a premium piece of stag, with damascus file worked and gold inlay pommel. The sheath is water Buffalo leather inlayed with textured Ostrich skin, and gold inlayed belt clip.

This random pattern is spetacular!
Congrats to Rodrigo and the owner.

I like everything about this piece, however the random pattern is particularly welcome here as so many of Rodrigo's blades
are multi-bar these days. Personally, this may be my favorite of all his pieces.

Did you get this one, Kevin? Lucky dog - I think it went in like 10 minutes.

I have three of his pieces, but. nothing in the same realm as that one. Yes, I am jealous.

No, it's not mine. Just posting it up for Rodrigo as it hasn't received any exposure except to recipients of his new knife offering e-mail.

I know for a fact that the owner of this piece is real happy with it and he should.

Here's one those who attended this weekend's AKI may have seen.
Tim can make any style knife to the highest degree. I feel he's one of the most talented and versatile makers out there.
He's also another maker whose knives often go from shop to safe without much exposure.
I have followed Tim's work closely for years yet still when David Darom's book on Tim came out I was surprised that I had not seen most knives featured in the book.

We know Tim for his outstanding Bowies and Hunters but how about this piece:

Rodrigo's work is surely special and I agree with Kevin here. This is easily one of my favorite pieces of his. I will say you gotta be real quick to get one from him these days, they do go very fast.

The Hancock is awesome as well. I had the pleasure of playing around with that one for some time last night at the AKI. Good choice for this thread as well.

Thanks for this thread Kevin, hopefully we will see some treasures. That piece from Sfreddo is outstanding in so many ways. He's brilliant.

I plan on posting several images, perhaps several posts, of one magnifent piece that does, indeed, reek for additional exposure, especially considering it's current state of display - and considering it was to be exposed to the public at the AKI, though practicalities prevented it.

However, all I currently see are references to some Sfreddo piece. Until some sign develops that a few high end, high value, little known pieces emerge from obscurity in this thread, I think I perhaps should hold back displaying the piece, maybe?

I actually consider both the Sfreddo and Hancock to be high end, high value, little know pieces and spectacular as well.
Neither had ever been posted on a forum.
Hasn't the piece you're referring to been posted on multiple forums, multiple times? Believe I posted it on a couple forums myself.

Actually, not at all. I usually don't post on multiple forums. I prefer Blade Forums, these days, though I notice most of you seem to post to several forums, perhaps to get as much exposure for such pieces, which certainly makes sense, considering.

My plan had been to post more than one "highly collectible" dagger, but instead, considering your comment, it may perhaps make more sense to start another thread for the several I had in mind (ones that are rather more significant than this - and not seen by the public in a long, long time), and also post just one into this thread. Thanks for your prompt response, Kevin.

Well, here is an example of one I had in mind. Certainly not an ABS-type edged blade, but definitely a piece with impeccable lineage, form, and execution. The execution includes perhaps the finest french grey that can achieved, pave diamonds beautifully mounted, black lip pearl to die for - an extraordinary piece that is at least the equal of any that appeared at the AKI or, at any point recently, on this or any other forum.
Straight from the 2011 AKI. It probably won't be seen by the public from this point on, I suppose, but that's an assumption, since I don't own it.

Here is a recent folder made by Rick Eaton. Not one of his AKI pieces, but beautiful nonetheless.
