Speculation Over: Feb. 2026 BOTM is a 104 in Cru-Wear

Fed the History of BOTM released since 2018 into the old AI engine, here are its predictions:

Release Date Determination​

Historically, Buck releases the "Buck of the Month" (BOTM) on a Tuesday or Thursday during the second or third week of the month. Looking at recent February releases:
  • February 2024: Released on Monday, February 12th.
  • February 2025: Released on Wednesday, February 12th.
    • The Model: There is a high probability of a Buck 112 Ranger or a Buck 119 Special. Since the January 2026 BOTM was a 110 Folding Hunter, they typically switch to a different frame size or a fixed blade for the following month.
    • The Materials: Following the success of the January 110 with MagnaCut steel, it is highly likely the February knife will also feature a premium steel like MagnaCut or S35VN.
  • Prediction: A Buck 112 Ranger featuring MagnaCut steel and unique handle scales (such as a burl wood or a layered G10/Micarta) to follow the "modern materials on classic frames" trend seen in early 2026.
 
I wouldn't mind seeing a 2-blade 303 that matches one of the 2-blade 301's that Buck has released over the past couple of years. Flat grind, sheepsfoot and clip.

Or, they could really surprise us with a 310 in one of the new color patterns.

A while ago, Buck Knives Inc. Buck Knives Inc. mentioned that they have a pile of 822 blades laying about. It has a family resemblance to the 104. A really, really terrible idea would be releasing a 104 as a BOTM and a 822 on the Specials page.

It will have to be odd reasonabley priced and cool looking to tempt me.. But Buck HAS hit a home run for the BOTM in the past. The great ones sell out awful quickly tho.

Thanks Mike. Nice looking knife, but, this one is gonna save me money, not interested. There are sure a few people that have expressed interest in a knife such as this. Glad for them.

Yeah I had to search BOTM section and it was at the bottom.

I get it, this is about perfect for my tastes besides the coating. Sure wish that trend would end.
